I'm hearing more of that as some within the Christian community slowly cave to White Privilege & the notion that we're ALL responsible for slavery - pandering so that they can feel less white . . . & more global.
IMO, it only exacerbates the issue.

It's amazing. I've actually heard (with my own ears!) white pastors say that even if you lived in the upper counties of Maine, and no one in your family EVER owned a slave, that you're part of a "system" that has, for centuries, favored whites (white privilege) and as such - you're responsible.
