I paid 1.40 at Sams today. It was weird.....I'm watching the pump move ever so slow, thinking i'll never fill up this will take forever. I time warped to the days it took 70 bucks to fill me truck. $23.00...filled up...left.

Paid 1.88 at Sam's down here.   WTF

I normally don't buy at Sam's. It's a little higher everywhere else.

Yesterday I topped off after getting groceries...not near a Costco and was running low...hit a local joint...paid $1.35...got over 13 gallons and didn't even break $19.  Can't remember what year it was when it has been this low.

I was noticing the cartel was all at $1.599 and I thought, boy, the cartel must be giving the suckers a break.

Then I went to Costco and paid $1.359.

Just looked and a Clark in Blaine is $1.299.

Wholesale gas around here, before taxes is in the low $.90s at the rack.

Add Pa taxes and freight and it's roughly $1.75 delivered to stations.

Retail has been holding at $1.99 allowing them to keep some margin

And just like that the cartel has jacked the gouge mark back up to $1.999.  They've been running a solid 30 to 40 cents higher than Costco/Sams.  The highest sustained spread, absolute or especially percentage, I've ever seen.

Yet in my 27 years, here, I've never seen the government be the least interested in the open, obvious price fixing that is the Twin Cities gas market.

Hard to believe that anyone has prices higher than mine! Gas here jumped a dime (to $179.9) in the last 10 days.

I have a van that was my dads. I use it to haul band equipment. It is equipped with 2 30-gal tanks (460cu is a hungry beast!). I usually run the whole season (of our bluegrass show) and then fill the tanks for the next season. Looks like I need to top them off now rather than later.

If you mean on the east side, doubtful.  Somewhere in the $4 range.

Let's see.  72.7 cents per liter is common...times 3.785, carry the one...time 1.34 (yikes their dollar had fallen)...

$3.69 a gallon.  Yep, pretty close to $4.

Up to $1.89 in my neck of the woods. That's a 30¢ jump in about 2 weeks.

And inventories are overflowing, OPEC is still pumping, and we are still on winter blend and no refinery or distribution issues (reported, anyway)...

What's left?

Yeah...chicanery...mostly of the market-manipulation variety.

Holy hells half acre, or just plane DAMN... Wife has been shopping for some of our food at Winn Dixie and got a charge card from them for reduced gas depending on how much business is done with them.  A month ago we got gas and saved $.25 per gallon.  Gotr gas twice since then, and just filled up again using the card and saved $.15 per gallon this time.  Cost for fill up from just under 1/4 tank, was $15.53.  She doesn't buy everything there so it does take awhile to earn enough, but it does add up.

We're up to around 1.59. There are pockets of competition where gas is a little cheaper.

Short story: One of my buddies bought a Leaf. I ragged him unmercifully and after around 3 months of charging he realized what a mistake he made but he couldn't get rid of the thing. Came to my business happy as can be a few weeks back and he had parked it in front of his house and a drunk totaled it. Couldn't have been happier. Bought a Sentra.

We're up 40¢ over about the past 3 weeks or so.
