Title: Margaret Thatcher
Post by: IronDioPriest on April 08, 2013, 07:20:15 AM
Rest in peace, brave soul.

Margaret Thatcher Passes Away (http://hotair.com/archives/2013/04/08/breaking-margaret-thatcher-passes-away/)

Quote
Many considered her Britain’s Ronald Reagan. In fact, Reagan and Thatcher were political soul mates. Reagan called her the “best man in England” and she called him “the second most important man in my life.” The two shared a hatred of communism and a passion for small government.

Would that "hatred of communism" was something that could be mustered in our government again.

Just as Reagan bought America another 25 years, she did the same to Britain, on it's way to certain collapse.

RIP

She is quoted as saying "The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money."

She had a great life, and I consider her one of the best modern leaders during peacetime.

EDIT:  A documentary I was actually watching last week.

Just heard on the radio.

I echo all the praise above, she was the last last great Lioness of England.

I still remember the genuine affection felt for her by some Brit paratroopers that were over here doing jumps at El Centro while my squadron was teaching its pilots how to conduct air to ground bombardment (and no, the two activities were not similtaneous or at the same spot!), those boys could drink and they loved their Maggie.

Heaven just got a bit better.

R.I.P. Maggie.

This may be the most admired woman outside the bible for me. (The lady who won the war with the tent peg has to rate pretty high!) Even a good man like Ronald Reagan needed other good people to stand with him. England was already very weak, but her leadership, her mind, and her strength DID make a huge difference.

It is a sad day for motrtal men, May God have mercy on her soul.

Were we ever blessed to have lived during the leadership of the 3 great leaders of our day. President Reagan, Prime Minister Thatcher and Pope John Paul.

Bill Bennett on his radio show this morning had a wonder tribute to this wonderful lady. He shared stories and expressed the the respect and affection that Reagan and Thatcher had for one another.

May God have mercy on us and may He once again bestow on us leaders like Prime Minister Thatcher.........

The fold is getting thinner in the here and now even though she's been ill for the last five years or so and I fear the curtain, no not curtain, the shroud of the Dark side(sorry for this) in this case socialism has fallen and with it, Liberty.

RIP Lady Thatcher, we across the pond will miss you.

Given what we see all around us it is hard to ignore that "shroud" warpmine, maybe from the ashes new leaders in the mold of Reagan & Thatcher will emerge and lead us back into the light of freedom.

What liberal civility looks like (http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/455054/20130409/thatcher-death-party.htm) - remember that the next time someone calls for civility.

Civility means slandering the names of dead of liberals, mocking of their achievements, and cerebration that a great evil has left the world. Wonder why you no-nothing moron foot solider of a proggy neighbor deserves death when the time comes?  Because this is how they will feel when you die.  Smile to your face, wish you were dead the rest of the time.

She has the popular vote her third time she went to election.  Democracy was working, these little bogtrotters just didn't like it; being communists and all.

I saw a few of the accounts about the reaction to her passing and said (to myself) that I wouldn't respond to the responders. Then  yesterday I was in the checkout line at the grocery store and the clerk, offering up pleasantries, remarked to the klown ahead of me that "Margaret Thatcher passed away". The guy offered up a couple of slurs and then said, "I bet the Republicans are all in grief about this but I'm glad she's dead".

I moved in close to him, smiled and said, "Hi!"

He turned and smiled back at me.

"Fvck you" I said.

The smile was replaced with one of confusion and hurt. The clerk was about to have puppies.

"You can't say that to me! Why did you say that to me?! That's not very polite!" he stammered.

"I can say any damned thing I feel like, I said it because you offend me, and you have no place to talk" was my response.

"Not only that but if you don't apologize for being an unfeeling piece of sh!t I will make you cry right here in front of all these people".

"I'm sorry man....jeeze!" he sputtered.

"Thank you and have a sparkly kinda day"

 ;)

Sweet and Thank You for your service.
Seriously. This is what has to be done. They are Cowards.  Michelle heard them going off about Palin at a Tea Party Rally once. She turned to them and said - I agree with Palin. Are you calling me stupid too?  When she told the story to me  I expected to hear they had said "yes" - but they backed down.  They are all sorts of brave talking about people behind their backs,  but when confronted with a live flesh and blood human- when they vitriol and hatred has a target right in front of them, a target ready to confront and beat the sh*t out of them over it, they run scared.

Agreed.  I remember heckling Wellstone at the State Fair one day back in the early 90's, he refused to engage me, had some flunky do it instead, I didn't make him cry (I still feel unsatisfied about that), but it didn't take the troll but a minute into the exchange to resort to personal insults since it had no way of responding to my litanny of facts, then I heaped the ridicule on it for the predictable shift in tactic, I am pretty sure he went back and told Paul and the rest of his merry band of idiots what a mean, hurtful caveman I was.  Whatever.  I've found that most are not stupid enough to utter much in mixed settings, they tend to be more brave when surrounded by more of thier own, much like jackals.

Well done 'Soup!   ::USA::

She left the British this ongoing challenge: “We have not successfully rolled back the frontiers of the state in Britain only to see them reimposed at a European level.” As long as her brave heart beat, she knew there are no final victories.

Britain seems worse off now than before Thatcher took office, throw in the capitulation to 7th Century Savages with the resumption of leftist rule and that nation seems doomed.

It sickens me that so many feel compelled to go out of their way to boo and heckle anybody's funeral...
