The team from Lafayette, LA made a dramatic comeback in their regional to head to Williamsport, PA for the World Series!!! ::whoohoo::
Geaux git 'em, boys!! ::rockets::

Some of these kids are really good. Saw a highlight of one game where a kid was throwing hard and baffling hitters and at his at-bat knocked one out of the park.
There be talent out there!

How's Trumbull CT. doing?
I don't know. I haven't been able to watch much of it and only lucked into the Lafayette game. The only other game I watched was So Cal beating Nor Cal.

I'm guessing Trumbull is in the NE region, must not have made it JF, Cumberland, RI is there.

Looks like Lafayette takes on Warner Robins, Georgia.

Japan & CA going at it right now, scoreless in the third.
-
Correction, Japan up 1 after scoring on an error. With a runner on 1st the batter laid down a bunt, throw out at 1st, runner advanced past 2nd and the throw to 3rd was wide and he scored on the error.

Solo HR by CA in bottom half of 3rd.

What's the score? I'm in the minority here at work and can't watch it.

1-1 bottom of the 5th. CA pitcher has been mowing them down. Japan's pitcher doing OK, but CA has squandered some scoring opportunities. 85 pitches is max allowed so the Japanese kid will have to come out shortly. Actually he just threw his 85th so he is facing his last hitter.

Walk off single for CA to win!
Solid hit.
Good game.

Crap. The last game I got to watch was CA vs MT. THAT was some awesome defense on both sides of the ball. MT won, but I didn't get to see any more.
Thanks for the update, Libertas!! ::bows:: ::bows::

These two played pretty good defense too, getting lead runners (one at home plate as I recall), athletic catches and strong throws. For kids that young I was impressed how intelligent their play is. And the CA pitcher wasn't even a regular starter, normally a long-releif and closer guy, but he was throwing heat and mixing in breaking balls and wound up with a bushel of strike outs. Kid could throw a breaking ball after a couple of heaters that broke to the outside of the plate and make the hitter look sick swinging at it. Good game. Japanese kids were sad after, but heck, they played well and almost repeated as champs, they're a tough team.
