His daughter's issues, I suspect.  I wonder how many times she'd been hospitalized before he decided to run.

He is only acknowledging the inevitable.

We could say that, once again, we have allowed the MFM to choose our candidate for us but I believe that this is only half true.

I had originally been quite pleased with the field of candidates that we had. But as time went on and the debates really introduced us to the candidates I became aware that we did not have a really good field to choose from.

I won't list the issues that I had with each of them...I've already done that elsewhere on this forum...but suffice it to say that in the end I didn't care for any of them.

We needed a candidate who simply was not there.

And now we have Romney.

So...

...suck it up, campers. He may, in fact, blow beets but he is our nominee and we need to support his sorry RINO ass or be faced with the reality of having BO pick another SCOTUS nomination. We need to embrace Romney's pathetic excuse for a presidency or deal with several more years of BO running roughshod over the Constitution and spending money that we don't have and that our grandchildren will be paying for.

And who knows? Maybe Romney will turn out to be a decent candidate and an acceptable custodian for the office of the presidency. I don't expect a leader. I don't expect a visionary. But if we could just have someone who could kind of hold things together without advancing the liberal socialist agenda too much then well, I guess that's better than the alternative:

I'm going to be the fool, and leave my mind open to the possibility that Romney would govern as conservatively as he is campaigning. If he does everything he says he will, he'll be a more conservative president than Ronald Reagan.

Who knows? At least that's what I'm going to tell myself as I swallow my bile.

You'll swallow a lot easier if you consider Duh Wun with another term.  The idea scares the hell out of me.

So it's Romney then. Sigh. I at least hope he'll pick a good VP. Who could that be? I don't know.

Oh, and note to the Rovian jackasses: you don't see us on Hannity blasting our own candidate before he's even given his acceptance speech.

I think one thing we've learned through two primary seasons is that Romney knows how to dual-wield blades while appearing to have his hands folded in his lap. I do not doubt that he'll take it to Obama in the same way. Whether that will be as effective against Obama as it has been against his republican opponents remains to be seen.

I'm resigned to Romney also...NOT YET.
If Newt can hang in there so will I.

Santorum did not tip his hat to Romney.  If Santorum works with Newt, as of now,
it is possible to drive this to an open convention.  Newt on Hannity Radio today said
he has more delegates lined up in Pennsylvania than Santorum.  We go to an open
convention States will have more power than the E PUBBIES.  Then we may have a
go at it.

Those Pubbies are working so hard, bless their hearts.

Yup.  The "open mic" incident pretty much scared me into ABO.  BUT I just cannot stand the idea of another non-Conservative, ruling class Republican as our only chance to stop mayhem.

I truly don't expect Romney to administer as a Conservative if he does win the election.  He honestly does not seem to understand what it even means.  Neither did George Bush.  Bush thought Conservatism was BS.  Don't trust Mittens at all.

Well, he knows how to beat the piss out of conservatives, we got that established!  We'll see if he has any game for the Boy Tyrant...I have some very deep fears this is exactly the kind of candidate Obama wants...somebody he can make the poster boy of one-percenters in his unending class warfare crusade, a bland honky he can bully, a northeast moderate he paint as the penultimate republican devil on one hand and the bold architect he based ObamaCare on with the other...

This election season is going to be filthy, rotten and disgusting...and in a year where we needed a bulldog we got stuck with a toy poodle...

This could totally suck...

If it's any consolation, the Sun will begin growing into a red giant in approximately 3 billion years.  It will literally boil away the oceans and exterminate even microbial life, before finally consuming the Earth itself.

Oh no, say it ain't so.

Quote
“I think Sen. Santorum throughout the campaign has been speaking about issues that we care about very deeply,” Romney said. “So we’re on the same page on those issues, and I think you’ll see us all come together in a very powerful way, but the time for that will happen down the road as we spend more time together, hit the trail together.”

If this is so it just proves one more time that Rick is a company man.
If he had thrown his delegates in with the gNewt an open convention
would have been much more possible.  This act will seal the deal.
No cream, no sugar, no tea.
