Post by: Libertas on October 02, 2016, 07:56:58 PM

Looks like we're good here. Hope it avoids those in JF's and Pan's areas.

Current forecasting is it will "just brush" the NC coast.  ::snort::

We'll see.

I'm in the cone and one more move to the west and it's shutter time and the rest of the crap that goes along with it. Tomorrow will tell the story. I'm in good shape all I need is odds and ends.

I'll be out tomorrow anyway; time enough to field my own odds and ends.

Does FL have those crazy unconstitutional laws about not carrying when crap hits the fan too?  Nothing like being disarmed by the state in an emergency to make one realize who is the biggest threat to your safety and survival...

Don't know about FL, but that asinine law in NC was overturned by the gun omnibus bill that passed a few years ago.  It's a law that demands to be ignored anyway.

And yeah...looks like the lowland state of Florida (especially eastern half) is in for a swipe...

...and then he'll spend what energy is left on GA and the Carolina's.

Shutters up water good food is always good the last thing is oil changes to both generators and fire them up. Sitting on between 75/80 Gals of gas so that isn't a problem.

Depending on how bad it gets and it does look bad I might be off for a couple of days.  Good luck and be safe.

Whoa!  Strengthening to a Cat4?!

Will be a 3 minimum for FL...hopefully you're a bit inland and away from the surge JF!

I do like some people's determination and sense of humor...as long as they know when to batten the hatches or skeedaddle!

Yeah the Gulf Stream runs between Florida and the Bahamas, nice warm water fuel for hurricanes.  I expect storm surge will be bad in Georgia.  Notice the curvature of the coast, the Georgia Bight will experience magnified storm surge due to the coastline of FL and SC funneling the water in.  Georgia hasn't had a hurricane strike in a long time.

Stay tough JF.  Here's a resurrected image from Hurricane Andrew in 1992:

Heh!   ::thumbsup::

And yeah...I think there is some truth to the Drudge charges that goobermint punks over-hype things and exploit circumstances for their own agenda (budget/ideology)...in this case the hurricane is still largely on the same probability track of 5 days ago...so in this case the computer modeling seemed to work...but it dipped back down to Cat3 and did not hit land as feared...

...but it is still a storm and like any storm anything can happen and people have to exercise common sense regardless if the stay or evacuate.

The biggest assholes in this storm story are 1) Obama for over-hyping this to pimp his climate change BS and 2) Shepard Smith for being a statist cheerwhore and classless c***blowing douchebag.

And somebody tell Hitlery Obama wants his climate scarmongering schtick back!

What a dumb c***!

The worst thing about the overhype is people ignoring the wolf-criers .... to our detriment when real potential catastrophe looms.

Yup.  Isn't that basically what got W in trouble with the me-di-uh and prog prog pol's?  I mean people in the Chocolate City were warned, the storm showed no hint of slowing or de-intensifying...and dirtbag Mayor Nagin did nothing and let all those buses just sit there...

But all those a-holes blamed W.

Idiots.

But not all the news is bad...I rather enjoy clips like this -

Some idiots broadcast their idiocy.

;D

And hey, where is Hussein?

Oh, right.  But W is a douchebag....
