Quote
Regarding immigration reform, Perry highlighted the importance of developing a foolproof biometric identification system to track individuals and to ensure that they pay taxes and "live within our laws."

Heard a rancher say, "they can track a cow from Canada to here but they  can't track a __ __ WB."

That's true.  I will be damned, however, if I'll submit to a government-issued biometric ID just to make it easier for it to do its job; just close the gawdamned border.

This about Perry does not fill me with glad tidings, that it's from 2007 notwithstanding.

They track the cows without the chips.

Give those bureaucrats a generation and the kids will be asking, "how did they survive without them?".

They can keep them.

I think Perry has a point about the fence. It is a deterrent, not a cure. I disagree with him that the fence is useless, but I concur 100% that the solution is boots on the ground.

Absolutely.  We need the fence, the "boots" - armed, cameras, drones and, oh hell, moats with alligators if that's what it takes.

I'm very anxious about another Perry-proposed amnesty; Reagan's just set the stage for the next.  The next will confirm the next one.  Where will it stop?

A more attractive view of fence climbers:

I'm not quite of the "killzone" approach to border security (close though!) but would like to see a little more stick and a little less carrot. When we catch them we should release them across the border with the gentle reminder to come back legally.

On a second offense we should deposit them at Cape Horn. Should they make their way back again we drop them off again to the Cape - but from 30,000 feet.

If the fence didn't have built in hand ans foot holds they would not be able to climb it.But since it's designed by idiots the results speak for themselves.

Did any of you see razor wire??

No razor wire, nothing electrified...and no security forces.

At least the clowns at sea received some warning shots.

It's already a fence/wall by itself isn't going to do the trick -- hand and foot holds nothwithstanding -- so yeah, the results do speak.

Fer crissake.
