This time,45 years ago, my family emmigrated to this country, we originally come from, Surrey, England. 40 sw of London. I was 3 years old. We settled in New England.

What compelled your family to leave England and come to the US?

Wasn't England in the depths of it's socialistic experiment, then?
45 years ago I was sitting in front of a black and white TV, watching something like Gilligans Island or Brady Bunch. ::laughonfloor::

What compelled your family to leave England and come to the US?
I was born with a birth defect, hypopituitarism. I was born with a dysfunctional pituitary gland. One of the hormones it gives out is IGH, aka Insulin Growth Hormone. UK was a little behind on medical technology, back then, so they(St Ormond's Children Hospital) referred us to John Hopkins. Also my father was a electrical engineer and there were more opportunities in America for him. So here we are.

It pains me to see what has become of Britain (not that we aren't heading down the drain too). I've never set foot there, closest I've been is seeing Scotland from 35,000 feet, but it's where just about all my ancestors came from and there's a cultural kinship. But now Britain is becoming Britainistan and we're becoming Mexifornia.
