Pressure to conform, to alter your business practices?
No, not at all, Uncle Sam wouldn't do that. He wouldn't put the onus of guilt on a business in order to influence its behavior, that would be extortion.  Only thugs do that.

"The move comes after reports that investigators were trying to determine whether the gunman in the Newtown shooting, Adam Lanza, tried to buy a gun from a Dick's Sporting Goods..."

Well, this 'sporting goods store' might as well go ahead and pull baseball bats, hockey sticks, OH HECK I'm not even gonna list all the items that can be used as weapons...  but I will never spend a dime with them, on anything.

All they are doing is legitimizing the "ban semi autos" demands.

There's an outfit around these parts called "Sports Authority" - I don't know (or care) if they're national or regional. It's a huge store so when opened near me I went to take a look.

"Where's the guns?" I asked.

A clerk pointed me to a corner where they had a couple of BB guns.

"That's it?!

I was getting yuppie angst wafting in the air from the stoner clerks (smells like unshaven armpits and four-day-old underwear).

Nevermind, I'm headed to Ben's Loan  ;D

Dick's doesn't even sell AR type rifles, to my knowledge. Hell I used to work at a Dick's store when I was in college, in the gun section. The only semi-autos we had were boring 3-5 round deer rifles. So they're going to pull even those Elmer Fudd guns off the shelves, thereby totally giving credence to an argument that has none.

I sent an email to my new Congressman today, just trying to remind him that he does have support in opposing new legislation. His handler wrote back pretty quickly stating that the Rep shares my concerns and agrees. I just hope we don't lose too many to the fait accompli tactic currently being used by every single media drone.

I am thankful that I have guns. Not as many as I would like because, hey, you can never have enough guns. But I will someday pass them on to my kids, legally or illegally, doesn't matter to me. Nice thing about guns, they last several lifetimes if properly cared for.

Yes x 5!

I am so bloody tired of this BS...Leftists pass laws that do nothing but endanger law-abiding citizens and embolden criminals, people/kids get killed, their response is more laws against the law-abiding citizens, businesses and organizations supposedly who should know better and be supporting us throw us and our rights under the bus to appease the pc/diversity/multi-culti types dominating the libiot power centers...over and fricken over again!!!  Please, tell me WHY I should bother being a law-abiding citizen anymore?  WHY?!?!?!

Listening to the "news" on the raydidio this am was particularly depressing. There was an endless stream of pussies who, with a full load in their trousers, were breathless to flush our rights away in the name of pure cowardice.

I had a little tinge of apprehension last night when reading of the panic buying that is going on - there are still more guns that I want to own. But I chose carefully and am fundamentally ready for whatever comes next. I will not surrender; I will not submit.

I have zero confidence in my fellow man to do the right thing so I will do my own thing.

God help he who crosses me.

Cheaper than dirt advertises on Beck.  They don't seem the type to cave.

I wonder if they sold anything to the shooter?

Thanks God for the "Little Guys". Went handgun shopping Saturday for my sons for CHRISTmas. Went to my favorite little gun shop and was surprised to see the place packed. They were having a party! Free wine, beer, and food! I thought free alcohol at a gun shop was a bit strange, but it IS Alaska after all!

No, they wouldn't have, if anything they would have sold to the mother who was slain, but it shouldn't matter if they did or didn't, caving is caving, PR reasons or not it is BS.

We've gotten nothing new -- new and different is nice, but I have exactly and all that I need -- and I haven't been to the range in longer than I care to confess.  Christmas week we'll be going off to get me some practice.  Looking forward to shooting the Kimber.

Yup, lots of hoop jumping for CH11...get to answer to a trustee who may or may not be worth a damn...and for any investor in the company you are about as porked as in CH7...and your current creditors are free to take a walk after whatever you settle on what you already owe...and in the meantime most of your good labor has high-tailed it...and if you do not survive the process you are in CH7 anyway.  All because your leadership didn't have the sense God gave the common dog!

It's hard to f them all as it seems they're all in on it.

BUT

A Mills Fleet Farm is opening up in my neck of the woods.  Judging from the mailer I got, they ain't gonna be part of that list, if ya know what I mean.  I'm definitely going to check them out, as an alternative to WalMart.

F'n-A!  FF is more of a drive for me...but WM just done pissed me off for the last time!  But I really like FF so it makes it even easier!  They sell rifles (including AR's), shotguns and pistols (including the much maligned semi-auto variety) and ammo in all flavors!!!

And...I would urge more retailers to do stuff like this -

There are none in the Twin Cities, is there?  At least, I never saw any.  More of a small town Minnesota thing.  Which makes it odd they're opening in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.  Maybe the new owners are working to open in larger markets?
