It will just make software writers even more lazy about memory. 

I finally bought a new computer a few months ago.   With the bloated software we have lately,  it doesn't seem any faster then the old machine.   That is in spite of going from 1 gb of ram to 8,  and the clock speed doubled to 3 ghz.   Its hard to imagine how they once managed to program for computers with 8k of ram a mere 30 years ago.
