Godwin's Law
« on: April 15, 2012, 09:44:23 AM »
The mere mention of Hitler anymore is enough for someone to invoke Godwin's law.

Recently I made an assertion that Obamacare was dangerous because Hitler used a similar system already in place in Germany to implement his eugenics programs and to deny care to undesirable individuals. As a result, a critic claimed "Godwin's Law. You loose."  Typical lefty crap in order to avoid confronting what I said, but its more than that. I told him what the Nazi's did with that power. I didn't say Liberals would.  I countered that the next GWB would have that same power to appoint that board. He was as bad as Hitler right? What would GWB done with that power if he had it at the time?  Of course, there was no further rebuttal.

Godwin's law is nothing but a bulwark to shield those  who are acting like Nazi's, upon on a real, empirical, and factual comparison, from every being criticized for using those tactics.
I have begun reading William L. Shirer's "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich", because, as usual, my pathetic Public School education ill or mis informed me about pretty much all of human history. Let me share a few things about the Nazi's I recently learned ( with my apologies to those who already  are aware of the facts) .

Quote
"I understood the infamous terror which this movement (Social Democrats in Germany) exerts, particularly  on the bourgeoisie, which is neither morally or mentally equal to such attacks; at a given sign it unleashes a veritable barrage of lies and slanders against whatever adversary seems most dangerous, until the nerves of the attacked person's break down..this is a tactic based on precise calculation of all human weakness and its result will lead to success with almost mathematical certainty...I achieved an equal understanding of the importance of physical terror toward the intellectual and the masses ... For while in the ranks of their supporters the victory achieved seems a triumph of the justice of their own cause , the defeated adversary in most cases despairs of the success of any further resistance" - Mein Kampf

Shirer claims of this "No more precise analysis of Nazi Tactics, as Hitler was eventually to develop them, was ever written"   Sound familiar?  Its basically Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.  Hitler saw that was how the Social Democrats (Basically Marxists) maintained power,  and decided that was a fine way to proceed.

Quote
These uniformed rowdies, not content to keep order at Nazi meetings, soon took to breaking up those of the other parties. Once in 1921 Hitler personally lead his storm troopers in an attack on a meeting which was to be addressed by a Bavarian federalist by the name of Ballerstedt, who received a beating. For this Hitler was sentenced to 3 months in jail, one of which he served..."Its all right," Hitler boasted to the Police. "We got what we wanted. Ballerstedt did not speak." As Hitler had told an audience some months before, "The National Socialist Movement will in the future ruthlessly prevent- if necessary by force- all meetings or lectures that are likely to distract the minds of our fellow countrymen"

How many times in the last few years have Leftists  decided that their best argument would be to prevent others from speaking?

Quote
Hundreds of German liberals were sentenced to long prison terms on charges of treason because they revealed or denounced in the press or by speech the Army's constant violations of the Versailles Treaty. The treason laws were ruthless applied to the supports of the Republic ; those on the right who tried to overthrow it, as Adolf Hitler was soon to learn, got off either free or with the lightest of sentences

"The Republic" was of course thrust upon the Germans by the allies ( and it was based on American' principles of inalienable rights, rule of law etc)  and was handed directly into the hands of the Marxist party ( Social Democrats) who took it only reluctantly.  The  military brass had to take the blame for it, and henceforth refused to co-operate  in the republics support, instead forming a "State within a State."  "Right Wing" in Germany at the time meant you supported the Military's refusal to support the republic. Far-Right in Germany meant you supported the return of the Monarchy. As you can see identical to the Tea Party in all respects. Further note how those who are against the republic are getting the lightest sentences.

Quote
German currency had become utterly worthless. Purchasing power of salaries and wages was reduced to zero. The life savings of the middle classes were wiped out. But something even more important was destroyed: the faith of the people in the economic structure of German society. What good were the standards and practices of such a society , which encouraged savings and investment and solemnly promised a safe return from them and then defaulted? Was this not a fraud upon the people? And was not the democratic Republic, which had surrendered to the enemy and accepted the burden of reparations, to blame for the disaster?"

Quote
The government calmly goes on printing these scraps of paper because, if it stopped, that would be the end of the government. Because once the printing presses stopped, and that is the prerequisite for the stabilization of the mark,  the swindle would at once be brought to light. Believe me, our misery will increase. The scoundrel will get by. The reason: because the State itself has become the biggest swindler and crook. A robbers' state. If the horrified people notice that they can starve on billions, they must arrive at this conclusion:  we will no longer submit to a State which is built on the swindling idea of the majority . We want a Dictatorship!" -Adolf Hitler

So that is a bit scary, as it does sound like one of us till the last sentence. But this is precisely who we will be up against when the collapse comes..

Quote
The middle classes, grown prosperous by the belated and staggering development of the industrial revolution and dazzled by the success of Bismarck's policy of force and war, had traded for material gain any aspirations for political freedom they may have had... * In a sense the German working class made a similar trade. To combat socialism Bismarck put through between 1883 and 1889 a program for social security far beyond anything known in other countries. It included compulsory insurances for workers against old age, sickness, accident and incapacity, and though organized by the State it was financed by employers and employees. It cannot be said that it stopped the rise of the Social Democrats  or the trade unions, but it did have a profound influence on the working class in that it gradually made them value security over political freedom and caused them to see in the State, however conservative, a benefactor and a protector. Hitler as we shall see, took full advantage of this state of mind. In this, as in other matters, [Hitler] learned much from Bismarck. "I studied Bismarck's socialist legislation," Hitler remarks in Mein Kampf, "in its intention, struggle and success."

When the the dollar collapses, the country will be ripe for another Hitler, and the dependent millions will flock to his banner.

Interestingly Shirer asserts
Quote
There is almost nothing about economics in [Mein Kampf]. The subject bored Hitler and he never bothered to try and learn something about it beyond toying with the crackpot ideas of Gottfried Feder, the crank who was against "interest slavery" What interested Hitler was political power, economics could somehow take care of itself.... As Hitler said in a speech in Munich in 1923, "No economic policy is possible without a sword, no industrialization without power" - Beyond that vague, crude philosophy and a passing reference in Mein Kampf to "economic chambers," "chambers of estates" and a "central economic parliament" which "would keep the national economy functioning," Hilter refrains from any expression of opinion on the economic foundation of the Third Reich

Quote
The state has nothing at all to do with any definite economic conception or development...The state is a racial organism and not an economic organization. The inner strength of the state coincides only in the rarest cases with so-called economic prosperity; the latter, in innumerable cases, seems to indicate the state's approaching decline.... Prussia demonstrates with marvelous sharpness that not material qualities, but ideal virtues alone make possible the formation of a state. Only under their protection can economic life flourish. Always when in Germany  there was an upsurge of political power the economic conditions began to improve, but always when economics became the sole content of people's life, stifling the ideal virtues, the state collapsed and in short time drew economic life with it ..Never yet has a state been founded by peaceful economic means.." -Mein Kampf

Quote
And though the very name of the Nazi Party proclaimed it as Socialist, Hitler was even more vague on the kind of "socialism" he envisaged for the new Germany. This is not surprising in view of a definition of a  "socialist" which he gave in a speech on July 28th, 1922 :" Whoever is prepared to make the national cause his own to such an extent that he knows no higher ideal than  the welfare of his nation; whoever has understood our great National Anthem, "Deutschland ueber Alles" to mean that nothing in the wide world surpasses in his eyes the Germany, people and land - that man is a Socialist"

Quote
At one point [Hitler] argues that the failure to keep the Germanic race simon-pure "has robbed us of world domination. If the German people had possessed that herd unity which other people's enjoyed , the German Reich today would doubtless be mistress of the globe"

The people who followed Hitler, were the same entitled herd beasts we have infesting the country now. The coming Civil war will be very dangerous because, if the right charismatic leader to give the sheep meaning, purpose, and hope, they will glad take us on.  They are clueless, hippie cowards now, but under the right person and fed a steady diet of righteous superiority and  given the safety in numbers of a gang, they will gladly take us on. Watch OWS even now and keep in mind this:

Quote
"we recognized that it was not enough to overthrow the old state , but that the new state must previously have been built up and be ready to one's hand...in 1933 it was no longer a question of overthrowing the state by an act of violence; meanwhile the new state had been built up and all that remained to do was to destroy the last remnants of the old state- and that took but a few hours" - Adolf Hitler

Of course this time around, it will be "Wall Street"

An admittedly primitive homespun axiom   I have used at times is "Just because you can do a thing doesn't mean you should do a thing". Discretion, judgment, and common sense are critical in decision making, especially when your decisions affect many.

If there is a lesson to be learned from the Øbozo regime it is one of recklessness. The hollow echo of "Bush, the would-be king" still ring in some parts, but it has been effectively silenced by the more accurate depiction of the ØbaMessiah as king and would=be tyrant. Øbozo has actually done many of the things that the left asserted Bush might do. The expansion of a shadow government vis-à-vis appointed (and unaccountable) czars, selective prosecution of political enemies, spying on his own citizens, etc.

Intellectual honesty dictates that one substitute the opposing party when examining the deficits or shortcomings of a player to see if an assertion remains true in the inverse situation. In the case of Bush we saw him make decisions based on his perceptions of what he thought best for all the people. With Øbozo we see time and time again where he arrogantly asserts and inserts personal motives and prejudices into his decision-making process. He rules instead of governs and governs to protect only the left.

Thank God Øbozo is such a blunderer or we would really be in trouble!

Fear of Godwin's Law being invoked against me does not faze me in the least.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Oh, but the "it can't happen here" crowd in the Democrat-Media Complex says only a right-wing extremist (any left of the Left) could plunge us into tyranny!

Did you know the Nazis were also rabid environmentalists?

It's true.  They knew then like the current environmentalists know now that environmentalism is a great way to attack capitalism.

Control and power, it always comes down to control and power with any strain of socialist!

People should pay attention to words and actions, the tyrants never fail to tip their hand, but the people often fail to grasp it.
