Title: Weaponizing the SBA, the RRA, the DOE, the .......

Quin Hillyer (http://cfif.org/v/freedom_line_blog/10014/bureaucrats-on-armed-power-trips/) discusses the increasing armed firepower of the federal government.

Via Christian Adams at The PJ Tatler. (http://pajamasmedia.com/tatler/2011/06/09/weaponizing-the-small-business-administration-and-railroad-retirement-board/)

Most people expect agencies like the FBI to be well armed for law enforcement purposes.  But the Railroad Retirement Board?  He reports that federal agencies far and wide now have armed agents, including the Small Business Administration.  For what?  To scare away phony 8(a) applications??  The United States Department of Education bought 27 Remington Model 870 12-gauge shotguns last year.  Here is the request for proposals to sell the weapons.  Perhaps the contracting officer, Holly Lee, knows why on earth the Department of Education needs a weapons arsenal. Maybe for the Department of Education SWAT team.

Starting to look to me like the standing army to which Posse Comitatus does not apply.

This illustrates the money entitlement mentality government has.  If one agency has authority the other agency wants the same authority. If one agency has a toy the other agency needs that toy.  Enter lack of personal, professional, and rational constraint. Add psychosis at the highest level and you have government run amok spending every dollar it can get and taking it anyway possible.  One cannot regulate human psycosis but it can be defunded.

Being defunded there will be no authority and no toys.  This story indicates we are not headed to socialism as much as toward something resembling Saddam's regime.

A stunned Kenneth Wright had his front door kicked in by the raiding party at 6 am yesterday before being dragged onto his front porch, handcuffed and led to a police car with his three children.

Mr Wright was later told by Stockton police that the order to send in the SWAT team came from The U.S. Department of Education who were looking for his estranged wife to collect defaulted loan payments.

What, the student loan program was recently federalized, taken out of the hands of private banks.      Yes it was.

Precisely.
There is wordage in O-care establishing a Corps of Officers, ostensibly for filling gaps in local medical coverage, which, if I read it correctly, will be assigned to regular military units as some kind of overseer.
Like the KGB had their political officers. If you want that exact info, I'll look it up, but I don't have it at my fingertips. I found it to be alarming.
And while the DOE has some to do their big-man imitation, how much you wanna' bet much of it is already out the back door? Along w/ some 4 million rounds of .40S&W sold to Agriculture, IIRC.
We'll be seeing this sh*t in the hands of domestic enemies soon.
Or in Mexican cartels.

Yep, the KGB had political officers in practically every unit of the Soviet military. No one ever knew who they were, so even the highest ranking officers had to be guarded in opinions they expressed, afraid to deviate from official tactical doctrine even when it was totally inappropriate for battlefield conditions. There's a good portrayal of the sort of institutional paranoia present at every level of the Soviet system in The Hunt for Red October. In that movie/book the KGB spy ended up being a lowly seaman in the sub's mess.
