The ex "girlfriend" is bottom left. Bottom center is the killer who shot the boy repeatedly with the gun. Top left guy beat the victim with an axe handle to prevent him from escaping and held him down in a bathtub where his kneecaps were beaten by the guy pictured bottom center who then shot him some more. Bottom right helped dispose of the remains and aided with the coverup, such as it was. It's unclear what the top center guy did but he undoubtedly was a participant in some way. There are at least two minors not pictured for the usual stupid reason.

Reminds me a little bit of a movie I watched a few years ago called "Bully" (http://"http://www.solarmovie.com/watch-bully-2001.html?page=3). In this movie, a group of dope-smoking promiscuous delinquent teenagers get sick of the abusive tendencies of one of them, and one kid floats the idea of being rid of him, which escalates to conversations about it, which leads to thinking about doing it, which leads to a plan, and eventually an outright execution.
The movie does a fairly convincing job of exploring how the vacuums present in the lives of wayward youth can be filled with evil. The thought processes and conversations that lead to these kids acting on sociopathic thoughts seem pretty plausible within the context of the characters, who seem pretty realistically portrayed.

A very similar incident happened here in the Raleigh, NC area a couple of years ago. White trash kids lure kid to abandoned house, then kill him. It's like the kids can't think about cause and effect, or don't consider consequences.

Some of you may have heard of the Father's Day massacre in NY a week ago. The murderer has been caught along with his getaway car driving spouse. Truly, if there was ever a better example of the need for the death penalty I cannot bring it to mind.

I just can't wrap my head around how a human being can walk up behind another innocent human being, and shoot him in the back of the head. To be sure, a public defender will argue diminished capacity because the shooter was a drug addict, and search for any way to make the murderer look more sympathetic to the jury.

A woman at the Hanuman Festival went into the portable toilet Friday and noticed something moving in the tank when she lifted the lid, according to police spokeswoman Kim Kobel. The woman exited and asked a man nearby to look inside the tank.
The man told police he saw something moving under a tarp, and when he left the toilet he heard it lock from the inside.
A security supervisor then waited outside for the person to emerge. When he did, the supervisor tried to get him to sit down, Kobel said, but he ran off, covered in feces.
Kobel said police are not sure how he was able to squeeze into the tank or what he was doing there. He is being sought on suspicion of criminal attempt to make unlawful sexual contact.

And, yeah, I do think it belongs here. Not necessarily because of what happened back in the 1960's (although it's arguably trashy and the players are most definitely of the Caucasian persuasion) but rather that the elderly Hollywood has-been felt compelled to include the sordid tale in her memoir and then release it to the press to make damn good and sure that everyone hears about it.
Personally, I hope that when she gets interviewed about this the talking head asks, "So...which other famous people have you gotten VD from?"

I don't know if anyone covered the Dougherty siblings on another thread...couldn't find it with a search...but here is the photo (http://blogs.reuters.com/fullfocus/2011/08/11/editors-choice/#a=3) that sums up their little time in the media spotlight. Caught in Colorado, not too far away from my area of the state.
The state patrol threw down a spike strip that ended their high speed pursuit. The above photo is pretty cool. You can see the skid marks leaving the interstate and ending with the car up on a guardrail. The female got shot in the leg. Amazingly, from start to finish across several states, no law enforcement officers were hurt. The youngest male attempted to flee on foot and was easily run down and captured. There is no place to hide in this area of CO...he may as well have been trying to run and hide in an empty parking lot. Criminals are so stupid.

I got in a few fights, won most, lost a couple. Never fought the same guy twice. Most times they resulted in mutual respect after the fact. I even did some bullying, much to my regret later in life.
But these kids aren't doing either of those things. They are savaging and brutalizing a defenseless person, without conscience or restraint. If he'd not have run away, it appears to me that they would have eventually killed him. He was one head-slam against the pavement; one kick to the face; one head-first tackle into the wall - away from serious injury or death.
I think these punks deserve whatever they have coming to them, and I hope its the very worst.

In other words, depending on how far we want to go back, the standards for unacceptable behavior cross a line somewhere. Something isn't right about that picture and the videos from which it was screen-grabbed.
I've seen people with naturally dark complexions that tan in booths every day. Even one lady who tanned in two different salons once per day. They never, ever look like that. They look unnaturally colored, but not like that. Plus, the mugshot of her (presumably taken recently since this episode with her child led to the arrest) does not look anything near that dark and unnatural.
I think that looks like makeup, not booth.

I took photography one semester in high school and I remember someone accidentally got some silver nitrate on their hand. It turned the skin a very nasty shade of black in short order. When that happens it can't be washed off because the skin is actually burned...a chemical burn.
Another thought that comes to mind is the ingestion of colloidal silver. I had heard of people making colloidal silver by way of electrolysis and then drinking it on a daily basis until they had enough silver in their system that their skin began to take on a gray or black tint.
I don't think that's what is going on here, of course, but it's something just as serious as far as the outcome is concerned.

"I'm going to give you this option: I will cut that by 150 hours if you want to cut her hair right now," Johansen said.
"Me, cut her hair?" Bruno asked.
"Right now," the judge said. "I'll go get a pair of scissors and we'll whack that ponytail off."
So, the mother agreed to cut the daughter's hair -- up to her ponytail --in order to reduce her community service sentence and is now whining about "cruel and unusual punishment" -- while knowing her daughter has, as well, repeatedly threatened another teen with mutilation.
This kid is already a horror.

At first I thought this judge had a screw loose. But upon reading through, I think he's applying common sense. It's a real-world penalty that mildly but concretely punishes both the daughter who assaulted a child and threatened another, and the mother who is not demonstrating an ability to control her child.

I see common sense as well. There's no permanent harm inflicted on the girl by having her hair cut, unless we want to whinge over "trauma/loss of self-esteem", which I don't. "Community service" rarely directly connects the "service" to the "crime" -- this does.
I suspect some mild humiliation while young goes a long way toward embedding certain valuable lessons.
God knows if I'd ever done such a thing, my parents would have cut my hair themselves, killed me, and then brought me back to life so they could kill me again.

I had to do community service when I was 16 for a petty misdemeanor (illegal fireworks). I was allowed to pick from a list of approved charities. I chose the March of Dimes. I chose them because they had an annual Haunted House for the few weeks preceding Halloween.
For my "punishment" I got to be a different monster every night for a couple weeks in the town Haunted House with a bunch of my friends working there and another bunch hanging out there. It was no punishment at all. To the contrary, it is one of the fonder memories of my youth.
Community service - at least in my case - was a joke, if punishment was the goal. I learned my lesson because I knew right from wrong, not because I was punished.

HOUSTON--Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip.
Our captain on this quirky voyage is Joe Stumpf, renowned as the owner of the Captain Kidd, a Kemah tourist attraction that looks like a pirate boat. For thirty years now, he’s been a sailor and for the last twenty, he’s owned charter boats.
But during all his years at sea, he’s never heard a story like what happened to him last week.
"In 30 years of boating, this is my first experience with someone trying to steal a boat," Stumpf said. That’s right, a guy who owns a pirate ship has become a victim of a pirate.
"We’re the pirates," he says. "We’re the ones who are supposed to be doing all the stealing and pillaging and plundering and everything."
But last Friday morning, police say a guy who had apparently been drinking too many margaritas stumbled onto Stumpf’s other boat, the Flying Pearl, and tried to take her out to sea. As pirates go, he was pretty lousy at his job.
"I think he was too drunk to realize really what he was trying to accomplish," Stumpf says.
He managed to take the boat out of its slip, but the sails were locked down so he couldn’t open them. He called? for help from a woman at the marina, Stumpf says, but he also turned out to be a lousy liar, explaining that he’d just bought the boat so he didn’t know how to extend the sails.?
The woman reportedly became suspicious when he couldn’t say what kind of boat he’d just bought. She called the harbor master who called Seabrook police.
Somehow, he got the boat into the channel, but he didn’t get much further.
"Somewhere along here I was told that, after he couldn’t get the sails out, he jumped in the water and was swimming with the boat, trying to pull the boat out to the channel," Stumpf says.
Seabrook police confirmed they found the thief swimming in the channel, trying to pull the 44-foot, 12-ton sailboat behind him. They spent more than an hour coaxing him out of the water.
Phillip Beach, 26, was arrested and charged with felony theft. In his booking photo, he appears to be wearing a wetsuit.
Stumpf recovered his boat and piloted it back into the Seabrook marina. Inside, he says he found an empty margarita container.
"It never occurred to me before that somebody could just walk in and untie your boat and go," Stumpf says.
Now he’s taking extra precautions. The old pirate is locking his sailboats to their docks.

It's easy for me to point the finger at white trash or black scum. But when a life of addiction, metal illness, or abuse ends in tragic death, I cannot take it lightly.
Such a sad story of how people become trapped in their own low self-expectations and cannot help but replay their own failure "tape-loop" in their minds. Winning $1M would give someone an opportunity to reset their life. But if one is self-imprisoned by demons, all the money in the world cannot free them.
My late sister-in-law was one such. She never won anything, but she did flirt with her versions of successful life. In the end, she never believed she was worthy of anything good, and she drugged herself until she died.

Dawkins is a angry man, he is filled with hate and he is a coward. He hates Religion and he especially despises Christians and Jews and makes it known, however he will not mock Islam.

I too in a way feel pity for him. In the same way that you feel sorry for a person born deaf, they can never know what Beethoven's 9th Symphony sounds like, or even comprehend the concept of sound at all. Ironically Beethoven himself was deaf by then, but he was at least guided by the memory of sound and could still conceptualize what things sound like.
Dawkins and people like him are likewise missing an essential "sense". I know they believe it makes them intellectually superior to state that only what they can perceive through direct or indirect observation can possibly exist, but to me it's just equal parts arrogance and stupidity. There is far more to this existence than our limited abilities of perception and reason can ever reveal.
The first step is humility. Dawkins would do well to humble himself.

I got bullied as a kid and when I got taller and stronger than those who bullied me...............well its funny how they seem to want to be your friend. Looking back I feel it was good thing that it happened. It caused me to have compassion for others almost to a fault, and I have always tried to treat others as I would like to be treated.

It's funny, I got bullied too - by my older brother. Only I never looked at it that way. I always thought it was part of the price one paid for being brothers.
There was one time when I got crosswise with a kid in the neighborhood and he decided that we were gonna duke it out. As he was a year older and half a head taller I figured my chances were none too good so I was trying to bargain my way out. That only served to embolden the kid and a fight was inevitable.
As we were "negotiating" my brother happened along and saw what was going on. He said to me (in a loud voice naturally!), "Either you fight him and kick his ass or I'll be kicking yours!"
So I fought him.....and lost.
After the kid got me on the ground and humiliated me for a bit my brother leaned over and kicked him off of me and told him to buzz off. He then helped me collect my stuff and walked me home, telling me that there would always be assholes in this world and you need to take them head-on.
He's still my closest friend on the planet.

The author is right -- the reason Miley's stunts fall flat is because there is no longer anything to rebel against. Nothing to be "edgy" about. A Beaverton man was arrested following a string of erratic outbursts that culminated in the suspect allegedly masturbating in a Salem roadhouse, officials said.
It took a Taser and more than a dozen officers on Sunday to finally subdue Andrew Frey inside Iggy's Bar & Grill on Portland Road Northeast, the Marion County Sheriff's office said.
The 37-year-old man later told authorities he had used methamphetamine the day before and had no recollection of the alleged wild behavior, according to officials.
The brouhaha began around 1 p.m. when sheriff's deputies started receiving reports of man acting bizarrely in the 9000 block of Brooklake Road Northeast, officials said.
The man, identified as Frey, had allegedly called a locksmith and later refused to pay the worker for his services, Marion County officials said.
After allegedly stiffing the locksmith, Frey wandered over to Brook's Market and refused to leave, officials said. An employee at the market had to eventually escort the alleged suspect off of the property, who then made his way to Iggy's Bar & Grill.
That's when Frey's behavior allegedly took a turn for the vulgar, Marion County officials said.

Emergency workers say they had to use olive oil to grease up and free a naked man who got stuck in a washing machine during a game of hide and seek.
Mooroopna police, in northern Victoria, say the man was attempting to hide from his partner when he climbed into the top loader.
It took emergency crews about 20 minutes to free him using the oil to lubricate his skin.

A man has been arrested in a Pottawatomie County, OK, homicide. The man said he gave his stepfather, who died from asphyxiation and trauma, an “atomic wedgie,” officials said.

McLOUD — Authorities have arrested a man in the bizarre killing of his stepfather, who was found with his own underwear stretched around his head and neck. The stepson called it an “atomic wedgie.”
Brad Davis, 33, of McLoud, was arrested on a murder complaint Tuesday evening in the death of Denver Lee St. Clair, 58. St. Clair was the husband of Tressia St. Clair, Davis' mother.
McLoud police and Pottawatomie County deputies were called about 10:10 p.m. Dec. 21 to 4 Shadow Lake. Davis said he and St. Clair fought, and he thought St. Clair was dead, according to a probable cause affidavit.
When authorities questioned Davis, he said St. Clair asked him to come over for drinks. The men began arguing and Davis told officers that St. Clair “came at him,” and they began exchanging blows.

John Clauer not only brutally murdered his 30-year-old alcoholic girlfriend in the bed they shared near the Beach Boardwalk, but he slept with her decomposing dead body in the studio apartment for two and a half weeks, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
In his opening statement, prosecutor Jeff Rosell said Clauer, 63, told police that the bad smell coming from his apartment was rotting garbage, but it was actually the body of Heather Stearns, who had been killed in the bed and was still there.
"Something went foul," Rosell said Clauer told police who were investigating the smell. "But it was not trash. It was a person. It was a human being. It was a 30-year-old woman who liked to sing Patsy Cline songs."
Rosell told the eight-woman, four-man jury that the evidence would show that Clauer strangled Stearns so hard that he broke a bone in her neck, and he punched her so hard that he injured her sternum and her heart. He asked them to find him guilty of first-degree murder, for which the maximum penalty is life in prison.

A 19-year-old student has cut off his own penis and stabbed his mother while high on the party drug mephedrone, it was claimed yesterday.
Emergency services rushed to a house in Haywards Heath, West Sussex and apparently found the man hanging from a bedroom window with blood pouring from wounds to his groin.
Police confirmed they entered the house in the early hours of Sunday 29 December and found the 46-year-old mother, who had phoned 999. Both were rushed to hospital with what were described as life-threatening – and in the man’s case, self-inflicted – wounds.
As of Monday, mother and son were both said to be in a stable condition at the Royal Sussex County and University College London hospitals respectively.

Hackensack man faces charges in New Milford burglary

A 35-year-old Hackensack man is being held in the Bergen County Jail after being arrested for breaking into a New Milford home, while the couple who owned it were asleep, and stealing several laptop computers, a debit card and other items, the authorities said Monday.
Papapietro said the investigation started when the couple reported that their home had been burglarized while they slept, sometime between 1 and 5:30 a.m. last Wednesday.
In addition to the laptops and the debit card, the couple told police the burglar had taken a camcorder, passports, jewelry and other personal items. One of the victims contacted her bank to report the theft of the debit card and was told it had just been used at a gas station in River Edge and a 7-Eleven store in Hackensack, Papapietro said.
The person using the debit card at both places was described as a white man with longer hair, wearing a black jacket with a red hood, and driving a mid-1990s white Toyota Camry with a missing gas cap door, Papapietro said.

Woman, 18, charged in knife attack on boyfriend

EVERETT — Prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old Shoreline woman with first-degree domestic-violence assault in connection with a Dec. 26 knife attack on her boyfriend.
Tiana S. Star Cox remains at the Snohomish County Jail, with bail set at $100,000. She is accused of using a fillet knife to slit the man’s throat and then stab him in the chest.
“Blood began pouring from his throat and he heard air hissing from the cut,” prosecutors wrote in the charging papers filed last week.
The woman is considered “a danger to public safety,” the charges say.
In statements to Everett police, Star Cox said she had audio recordings on her phone of her boyfriend threatening to kill her shortly before she attacked him.
Everett police earlier this month served a search warrant to collect the woman’s phone and go through the files. The results of that warrant aren’t being made public while the investigation is ongoing, Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell said.
Police found out about the assault when the bleeding man staggered into the Everett Avenue Market and collapsed on the floor the day after Christmas, according to investigative documents. Other shoppers called 911 and tried to help the man.
Star Cox reportedly ran into the store, took off her shirt and gave it to the shoppers, who were trying to stop the bleeding. She then laid down next to the man on the floor.

WALPOLE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A teacher was arrested Wednesday for allegedly walking around his driveway wearing only a ski cap and goggles.
A woman passing by the Norfolk County Agricultural High School teacher's home in Walpole called police after seeing the 44-year-old exposing himself, officials say.
The woman reported the incident to police and told them that she saw Marc Mertz in his driveway wearing a ski cap, goggles and a towel. However, when she drove by the home a second time, he'd lost the towel.
A couple of hours later, another witness saw Mertz completely nude, and said he thrust his hips onto his mailbox as she drove by.
Arrested just for fruacking his mail box post? Gee, talk about Police Brutality!

I-96 shootings suspect says he got 'coded messages' telling him to act
Howell —A Wixom man police say is the Interstate 96 corridor shooter who terrorized motorists in October 2012 testified Monday that he was prompted to randomly shoot at cars after receiving “coded messages” during Detroit Tiger baseball games.
Attorneys will present closing arguments on Tuesday in Livingston Circuit Court in the case of Raulie Wayne Casteel, 44, charged with terrorism, assault and firearms offenses in 21 shooting incidents across Livingston, Ingham and Shiawassee counties in October 2012. No one was injured in any of the incidents where motorists reported their vehicles were struck by gunfire.
The shootings put the region on guard for weeks before a multi-agency task force of federal, state and local law enforcement announced an arrest.
During his testimony Casteeladmitted several years of frustration over his inability to find a job and also to being “paranoid” of what he thought was a government conspiracy directed at him and his family since 2009. He said the shootings also came after concern he was being monitored for unknown reasons.

A Pizza Hut manager in Erwin, Tenn., was arrested after adding an ingredient not ordered by the customer: Spit.
Amanda Engle, 29, was nabbed on Jan. 24 for disorderly conduct after a customer noticed her hocking a loogie into the pizza he purchased, according to The Smoking Gun.
The customer just happened to be Unicoi County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Rogers, who detailed the soggy encounter in a police report.
"I sat down on the bench which is straight in front of the counter," he wrote, according to Al.com. "The pizza oven is directly behind the counter. As the defendant removed the pizza from the oven I observed her ... look at me. The defendant then leaned over the pizza that she had begun to slice, and I observed her spit on the pizza which had been purchased by me."
Rogers then asked Engle if she knew who he was, and she confessed that he arrested her last year for a DUI.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A woman who drove 2 miles through a Los Angeles suburb with a dying man on her windshield says she can't remember hitting him.
Sherry Lynn Wilkins testified Wednesday that he seemed to fly onto her car in the 2012 incident in Torrance, but the events were a surreal blur.
Prosecutors say 31-year-old Phillip Moreno was struck so hard that he flipped onto Wilkins' car and punched a hole in the windshield.
"It was a flash, "Wilkins said. "I pretty much felt him landing on my window. To me, it felt like he came from the sky."
Asked by her attorney how she felt in that moment, she said, "Very confused, like it wasn't real. It took me a while to figure out there was a body on the windshield."
"I didn't feel like I had hit him with my car," she said. "I felt like he fell into my windshield from up high."
Wilkins said she panicked and kept driving until other motorists told her to pull over.
"I was very scared," she said. "I kind of froze."
Wilkins, a former addict who became a drug and alcohol counselor, wept and said she'd been drinking that night but wasn't drunk. She said she had been "self-medicating" while waiting for knee-replacement surgery and had consumed three airplane-size bottles of vodka and a can of Budweiser beer and Clamato before starting to drive.
Prosecutors say her blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.
Under questioning by her lawyer, Nan Whitfield, the 52-year-old defendant told jurors her story of addiction, which began when she was in a car accident at the age of 15 and suffered a broken back and shattered bones in her ankles and legs.
Wilkins said she became addicted to pain killers and then heroin.
"When did you begin to use heroin?" asked Whitfield.
"When it became cheaper than going to the doctor," she said.

Police: Woman Put Fecal Matter In Husband’s IV During Murder Attempt

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — An Arizona woman is accused of trying to kill her hospitalized husband by injecting fecal matter into his IV line, police in suburban Phoenix said Friday.
Rose Mary Vogel of Sun Lakes was arrested Thursday on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder after a nurse found the 65-year-old handling her husband’s IV line, which was found to contain a brown substance, police said.
A hospital lab test identified the brown substance in the IV line as fecal matter, and a trace amount of a brown substance also was found in the needle of an otherwise empty syringe found in Vogel’s purse, police said.
When it was searched in the hospital, Vogel’s purse contained a total of three syringes, including two with a clear liquid, police said. Police documents said Vogel is a retired registered nurse who formerly worked at the hospital, Chandler Regional Medical Center.

Police: Naked Man ‘On Some Kind Of Narcotics’ Was ‘Trying To Eat’ Teen’s Face Off

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A 6-foot-3, 250-pound naked man died after being shot by a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s sergeant when he attacked a former New York City police officer, chased a man and his young son and bit a man on the face.
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said at a Tuesday night news conference that the man later died at a hospital but it wasn’t immediately clear whether he died from gunshot wounds or from a medical condition.
According to Bradshaw, the man was walking on a street in Delray Beach when, for no apparent reason, he attacked the 66-year-old retired officer. The man continued down the street, where he chased a man and his 10-year-old son near the entrance to a gated community.
Bradshaw said the man then started fighting with an 18-year-old man, who defended himself with a box cutter. The man bit the 18-year-old on the face.
“The 18-year-old thought he was trying to eat his face off,” Bradshaw said.
“The people that he assaulted, starting with the retired NYPD guy, the people that he chased and then the 18-year-old, said this guy had like super human strength,” the sheriff said. “But he’s a big guy to start with. He’s not fat, he looks like an NFL linebacker. And he basically was terrorizing people all up and down this street.”

A person in Oregon named Valeria Jones is suing catering company Bon Appétit Management for $518,682 because coworkers used female names in reference to Jones despite the fact that Jones had continually expressed the desire to be addressed only with gender neutral pronouns.
Some of the terms the coworkers called Jones included, for example, “little lady,” “lady” and “miss,” reports The Oregonian. The coworkers said Jones looked like a woman—possibly some unidentified female celebrity.
Jones was unhappy, explaining that pronouns which apply to everyone do not apply to Jones and are “unwelcome” because Jones is “not a female or a male.”
Before ultimately quitting the job, Jones asked supervisors to present information to every other employee about various gender identity issues. The suit says supervisors chose not to make such a presentation.
“Plaintiff cried regularly at work and at home during this time,” Jones’s $518,682 suit declares.

Police: Man’s Lips Stapled Shut During Robbery

TULSA, Okla. (CBS Houston) — Three men are accused of stapling a victim’s lips shut during a robbery.
Tulsa World reports that 21-year-old Angel Rodriguez and 19-year-old Mario Mediano, along with another suspect, held four people at gunpoint, including a 2-year-old child, at a Tulsa apartment early Monday morning.
The suspects reportedly bound the residents with duct tape and demanded cash and money. Police say they ended up stealing phones, wallets, tablets and a purse.
They also allegedly stapled one of the victim’s lips shut with a staple gun.

TOWN OF BURNETT — A Dodge County woman is accused of child neglect after deputies removed her children from what they described as “deplorable” living conditions in a town of Burnett home.
Child neglect resulting in bodily harm charges were filed in Dodge County Circuit Court against Secoy S. Koch-Miller. The 25-year-old town of Burnett woman is expected to make her initial court appearance on March 10.
Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Detective Theodore Sullivan was alerted to the situation by a Dodge County Jail inmate on Nov. 11. The man said he was concerned for his newborn daughter and the child’s 2-year-old stepbrother who were living with Koch-Miller at her mother’s residence on County Trunk BI, according to a criminal complaint.
The man told Sullivan living conditions in the home were “deplorable” and the home was “essentially uninhabitable,” according to the complaint.
The inmate said the home had no hot running water and the septic tank was full to the point where they could not flush the toilet. He also mentioned that the home had black mold in the basement. The inmate said Koch-Miller’s mother was a “hoarder” and the 2-year-old was confined to a Pack & Play and not allowed to walk around the home due to the clutter, according to the complaint.
Before his incarceration last summer, the inmate told Department of Health Services officials he had burned 78 bags of garbage he had removed from the home, according to the complaint.
Dodge County public health officials reported that they had attempted to check on the well-being of Koch-Miller and her children but had been denied access to the home. A special inspection warrant was completed by Corporation Counsel Zev Kianovsky and signed by Judge Steven Bauer, according to the complaint.
Two Dodge County deputies accompanied Sullivan and human services workers to the home on Nov. 21. At the home inspectors were greeted by a strong odor of animal feces and urine and rotting food. They found maggots in the refrigerator, toilets full of human waste and mouse feces and clutter throughout the home (which, at times, prevented officials from being able to open doors), according to the complaint.

According to medical reports, the 2-year-old child was covered with bug bites and had a bruised eye, and his hair was full of spiders and spider eggs. At the time of his removal from the home, the toddler weighed only 20 pounds — 10th percentile for a child that age — and was sick and running a fever. The foster parent reported that the child was initially able to eat only three macaroni noodles. In the following week, she reported that the child had developed a “voracious appetite” and gained two pounds, according to the report.
The report also indicated the toddler was black in color because he was covered in filth. The infant, however, was in relatively good health with some respiratory illness and possible child abuse, according to the complaint.

NEW BRIGHTON (KDKA) — Police say a woman murdered her own niece just hours after her wedding, because they were arguing over who would drive home from a New Brighton bar.
It happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday at Jimmy K’s Bar on 11th Avenue.
KDKA’s Bob Allen Reports:
Police say 21-year-old Katelyn Francis of Fairview, W. Va., was shot in the parking lot. She died on her way to the hospital.
Police say that Francis was at the bar with her aunt and her aunt’s new husband.
Police say the three were arguing over who was going to drive home. That’s when they say 30-year-old Christina Nicole George-Harvan pulled out a gun and shot her niece.
“To our understanding, this was over who was going to drive the vehicle, the designated driver for the evening,” said Chief Charles Vanfossan, of New Brighton Police.
Police say they believe the suspect was holding her husband’s gun.
“The only thing she said is she touched the weapon and it discharged,” Chief Vanfossan said.

The Florida grandmother, 68, who was recently caught having sex in public in a town square at her retirement community has been sentenced to six months in jail after copping a plea to indecent exposure and disorderly conduct charges.
During a court appearance Wednesday, Margaret Klemm pleaded to the misdemeanor charges filed following her June 2 arrest at The Villages, a sprawling 55-and-older community in central Florida.
According to a police report, Klemm and David Bobilya, 49, were having sex “on the stage” in the middle of a village square. Responding to a 911 call about “two people having sexual intercourse in public,” cops found Klemm and Bobilya, who both appeared intoxicated, inside a gazebo around 10:30 PM.
Klemm’s pants, cops noted, “were completely removed and her shirt was pulled down exposing both her vagina and her breasts.” Bobilya was in a similar state of undress. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office deputy who discovered the duo “having sexual intercourse,” noted that they both appeared intoxicated.
Klemm, seen above, lives at The Villages with her husband Frank, to whom she has been married for 50 years. The couple has four children and 14 grandchildren.
Bobilya, who lives about 10 miles from The Villages, pleaded no contest earlier this month to indecent exposure and disorderly conduct charges. He was sentenced to 180 days in custody and is currently locked up in the Sumter County jail.

A Lafayette woman accused of killing a Youngsville motorcyclist in February has pleaded not guilty to negligent homicide.
According to the Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court's Office, Megan Malespin, 31, has until Oct. 20 to go to court and be assigned a trial date.
Malespin is accused of rear-ending a motorcycle driven by Anthony Gage, 51, of Youngsville while he was waiting to turn onto St. Etienne Road from LA 92. Gage was thrown from his motorcycle into oncoming traffic and was run over by a pickup truck.
She's been charged with negligent homicide, careless operation, suspended drivers license, driving an unsafe vehicle, no proof of insurance and no seat belt.
Judging from the charges, she's done nothing right, and yet her mug shot makes her look confused, like she can't figure out why she's there.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A customer pulled out a gun and shot and killed an employee at a Waffle House restaurant in Mississippi on Friday after she asked him not to smoke, police said.
Police received a call about the shooting at 1:11 a.m., said Biloxi police Sgt. Donnie Dobbs. The customer, Johnny Max Mount, had argued with an employee after being told that he could not smoke, Dobbs said.
"He pulled out a handgun and shot her in the head," Dobbs said.
The woman died on the way to the hospital, he said.
The suspect was outside the restaurant when police arrived and surrendered without incident.
He's been charged with first- degree murder and is being held on $2 million bond at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, police said.
The victim's name has not been released as authorities try to locate her next of kin. The Sun Herald newspaper reported that Mount was 45 and lived in Biloxi, Miss.
The Waffle House restaurant in Biloxi has a nonsmoking policy, said Kelly Thrasher-Bruner, a spokeswoman for Waffle House, Inc.
