I like it! I think they make a "matching" carbine which you should promptly add to your list :). Beretta always produces a stylish looking pistol. My 92FS, which I don't shoot nearly often enough, is probably the best looking one in my inventory.

Are these made in Italy, or at the Maryland factory?

I've never fired a .40 cal, only bigger and smaller. Nice looking pistol John. Have lots of fun.

I've been eyeballing both in .45acp, would be a nice two-fer and sharing ammo would boost utility.

My brother has a Taurus in .40.  Seems to have surplanted 9mm as a popular round.  The Taurus is pretty easy to shoot so I am guessing the Beretta will be equal or better.

Enjoy John!

Don't forget to give us a range update!

 ::thumbsup::

I've actually selected a caliber before just for the excuse to get new reloading dies and components. :D That's actually how I ended up acquiring a .357 SIG, which is sort of a cousin-caliber of the .40.

I will asap. But before it goes anywhere I will be getting very familiar with every aspect of the gun. I want to be able to handle it with a lot of ease and take it apart and have it back together in a hurry. Not to mention all the safety aspects also.

Yeah, I hear ya.  I have to admit I do the same thing.  Taking it apart, giving it its first cleaning, checking everything over.  Then taking it to the range for the first time and taking it back and breaking it down and cleaning it again.  Every bit is a pleasure.

Hey, you'll have to break in a new holster too!

I am happy for ya my friend!

Thanks a lot all the support I get here means a lot to me.

And thank God for you tube for all the info on that. I just spent about half an hour just taking it down and putting back together. I want to be able to do it blind folded if I have to just for kicks.I'll probably be doing it again tomorrow. The holster is the next thing and the guy that sold it to me told me to get it from Beretta because they sell it for less than he can buy it for from his distributor.

My birthday is next month and I'll let the wife buy it for me.

Bwaha.  Let's leave crap-kicking for subsequent visits.  This time we eat, we talk, we go shooting, we drink, we laugh.

I remember turning 18 and going out with my brother to buy a gun (yea I know - straw purchase - so the statute of limitations is way past and besides he's no longer on the planet). He kept pushing for me to buy a S&W .41, telling me it would be worth more in 20 years than almost anything else I could buy.

But I saw a Model 19 in .357 and loved it. So much that I bought it and carried it for almost 35 years. I always loved firing the .357 at the range. Everyone would have their Glocks and Sigs in 9mm and .40 all with their predictable reports and I would pull my trusty old wheel-gun out and

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

As I retracted my target I would casually look around to see that everyone had stopped shooting to see who the hell was making all that noise. I loved it! And accurate as all get-out. Definitely a nail-driver.

Since then I've acquired .40's and .45's and my current primary carry is a Kel-tec .40 which is a great piece but not as powerful or anywhere as accurate. I like it because it is so compact.

Let's face it - I love guns!

I'd like to. I have friends in Florida that I have a hankering to see again. Logistics could be tricky since I don't fly however. That's a longass drive  :o
