Military News/Veterans / Private equity and the rise of mercenary armies

In 2021 55% of all Pentagon spending went to private sector military contractors. That's $407 Billion, more than the federal government spent in stimulus checks to working people.
Private equity has increasingly led this trend, which causes two alarming problems. First of all, private equity doesn't have the same financial disclosure requirements as publicly traded firms, and once they buy defense contractors their finances can "go black" completely

The upheaval was sparked when France passed legislation that would expand the privilege of voting in local elections to all citizens who've lived in New Caledonia for more than 10 years. The territory's pro-independence factions see that move as a deliberate effort to weaken the power of the indigenous Kanaks.
...
But the more obvious reality is that the territory has large wealth disparities between those of native and European descent. The French government has invited proponents and opponents of independence to talks in Paris, in what could signal the new voting law could be suspended.

Nixon went into how it was that Dems went from anti war to huge pro military budgets and  RU haters.
Trump asked for 50B military increase, got 80B?
I have heard parts before. Jews from central EU hated RU and wanted revenge. The whole anti RU neocon project is a Nuland and Kagan (Nudelman?) family enterprise.

Collapsed?

I get the Baltics confused but some sided with Germans. If Romans, the Russians would have plowed salt in the soil and killed or enslaves most and hauled them away.
Homicide rates for Baltics as a whole. 1985 5.99 per 100,000;  14.16 1995, recovered by 2010

50 pct often  lacking food 1993.
Pct income to top 1 pct 4.7 1985, 13.47 2005.
From map, it looks like drop in GDP per capitia in baltics is in top 10 pct

I recall the Baltics lost maybe 25 pct of pop after 1990. May have been in bottom (worse)   10 pct for net migration.

Baltics Pct death rate increase since 1989 around 37 pct.

Pct change in life expectancy at birth 1989 to min.

I found  graph but cannot link. has all 3 Baltics.
Lith pop peaked in 1990 at 3.7 M now 2.8 M, Latvia 2.7 to 1.9, Est 1.6 to 1.3.

Baltics sucked at around 5 pct but not as bad as RU at at 6.8 or Ukr at 5.2. The rest of former USSR did much better than that. Most less than 1 pct by far. Table 6.2 taking stock of shock.

After USSR fell many plants were looted, often sold for scrap by local officials.

I recently read that some Baltic asked for exception from sanctions to buy train or tram parts from RU. They used to be the main supplier to  USSR thanks to a huge factory. After 1990 plants were privatized and no longer exist.

In this era of conspiracy theories being proven conspiracy facts...it is getting a lot easier to see nefarious motives behind past actions...

So I submit this, because I had a similar thought when visiting the dentist back in February when they did x-rays and threw the lead apron on me...

Since the brain is an organic electromagnetic machine...it cannot be a surprise that it can be affected by signals in the ether, right?

We hear people having reactions to cell phones.  There's the assassins who claim to "hear voices".  How about the Havana Syndrome victims and suspected E-M weapon causing it?

I tell ya...questioning everything seems prudent!
