Looks like the Turkish military is attempting to overthrow Erdogan. Probably a good thing, overall. The Turkish military has a history of resistance to Islamism and promotion of a secular state.

Slims have been working hard to get a grip on Turkey, and Erdogan has been encouraging them at the very least. It'd be satisfying to see him overthrown and strung up, so long as it's not islaminals stinging him up.

Also, the administration was shocked at the developments. If they'd watch foreign affairs with the same gusto they watch conservatives, they'd have known well ahead of time.

“It looks at least as if something has been prepared. The lists are available, which indicates it was prepared and to be used at a certain stage,” Hahn said.
“I’m very concerned. It is exactly what we feared.”
The government has arrested more than 6,000 people, some who did not even know they participated in the coup. They claimed their commanders told them “they were taking part in military manoeuvres.”

This is quite transparently a false flag. A genuine coup would have been executed more competently I think. Rather convenient that Turdogan now gets to round up thousands of secularists in the government.
And they're trying to strong arm the USA by cutting off power and access to the base housing our personnel? They definitely calculated this was something to do while Obama is still in office. A real American president would have asked them if they look forward to seeing the new independent nation of Kurdistan.

And W blew it with Turkey and the whole region...Turkey has been a horsesh*t NATO partner going back to his Daddy and GW-I, they never let us use their territory for ops in Iraq and Incirlik might as well be shut down for all the good it isn't and they just keep getting more Islamic by the second under Erdogan...and we blew it by not exploiting the Kurds to be a check both on an untrustworthy ally and a disintegrating Iraq ripe for extremist activity and Persian meddling...

And still, this sh*t is in NATO. Erdogan is daring them to boot them out, it will be his public justification for joining Putin...something all Islamic nations lust for who are outside the Saudi sphere of influence.
It is stunning how nakedly obvious all of this is!!!
And again, difficult to do (not impossible, just difficult) without a stuttering butt-puppet fool like Obama in power!
