Title: 22nd (Final) Cruise of USS Enterprise CVN-65
Post by: Libertas on March 29, 2012, 08:24:57 AM
She passed through Gibraltar on the 23rd and is in the Med and expected to transit The Ditch.  Of course the PaulBots & CodePinko's at ZH are in full lather everytime a carrier moves, but the Enterprise is on its final voyage and it is expected to make the Grand Tour around the globe, barring unforeseen action she is not going to be initiating any action or be part of a false flag op, much to the disappointment of the conspiracy theorists that seem to so predominate ZH.

The old lady is ending her 50th year of service, and I wish her and her crew well.

I had the privilege to tour her once back in the 80's - what an awesome experience!

We should commission another Enterprise, just as she followed her own namesake before her.

Unfortunately they already named CVN-78 Ford (it will replace Enterprise in 2015), and CVN-79 has been given Kennedy (FY 2018) and CVN-80 (FY 2024) & CVN-81 (TBD) are so far out it may be some time before another Enterprise is commissioned, which is just a damn shame!  I'm hoping CVN-80 gets Enterprise, that is the year the Nimitz is expected to decommission.  12 years off though...at best.
