What a turd!

Figures that socialist puke in the Vatican is assisting this!

Rubio set to piss of McConnell and the rest of the E-GOP by
challenging Obama, something the E-GOP are never happy about someone trying, and this
idiot might as well bark at the moon too for all the good it'll do him, this is your guy jackass, this is what he does, get used to it!

Wonder which brutal dictator this clown will jump into bed with next?

Oh they've learned; they've learned. I was relaying all this to my friend, Mark who knows another man. The other man isn't "my man"...he's Mark's man; and he likes his info in MS Word...in bullet-pointed format

All  Barry has done now,  is give a lifeline to the Castro brothers communist regime over the long term.

Once they have finally kicked the bucket,  passed on to hell where they belong,  their regime,  likely would have collapsed.  But since Barry stuck his over-educated nose in it,   one of their underlings will be able to continue the regime into another generation.

Obama gave the middle finger to another generation of Cubans...............

Raul Castro "Cuba won't abandon Communist system".

Thanks to Barry's lifeline,  they don't have too.    Cuba is or was about as weak as it could be.   As I said in the other post,  when the Castro brothers kick off,   the communist regime could have been toppled.

Barry is doing a great job of spreading the misery around.   Not just here but worldwide.

I have a little different take on this/

That embargo has worked so well.
Sort of like our success in the War on Drugs, Poverty and Terror
If the purpose of it is to remove the Commie Castros, it didn't work.
To me, all that was accomplished was  to make the Cuban people really poor.

And force the Castros into Russia's hands.

Could be wrong but after the revolution, Fidel came to us first but we rejected him and forced him to seek aid from the Commies.

I don't think he was misunderstood. He is evil but we screwed up too.

They are hardcore commies, Che was Casto's number one protege and the poster-boy for violent commie revolution, I doubt we would have moderated their behavior by being nice after he seized power, and they was happy to allow the Russians to build up strategic arms on their soil.

Castro and Obama share a hatred of America, they see it as a racist imperial regime.  Ironically, under Obama it has in fact become a racist imperial regime that loaths individual liberty and independent thinking.

We might need to agree to disagree on this, Libertas.

I do know the Che thing well, too.

But, what positives can we point to after 50 years of embargo?

What if we had helped the Cubans and not forced them into the Russians' hands?
Would Fidel have been more moderate?
We'll never know

We learned that for these idiots it will take more than 50 years.  Unlike the Soviets the Cubans were poor pawns, but useful pawns in the battle against the West, we collapsed the Soviet system because it was vulnerable ideologically and structurally and ready to collapse.  Cuba was largely agrarian and poor from the start, the wealthy capitalists merely replaced by communist oligarchs, the main difference being the capitalists knew how to throw a party, the communist turn to sh*t just about everything they touch.  It is unfortunate their people suffered but the smart and brave ones got out by any means necessary, just like those people who broke out out the Iron Curtain, it is not we who were punishing their people, it was their own government doing that.

What should have happened is what didn't happen, or rather what was poorly tried, horrendously executed and disasterously supported...I am speaking of course of liberation and the failed Bay of Pigs.  We had a willing group of Cuban nationals itching to take their nation back, but they rushed the op, executed and supported it with stunning incompetence and negligence.  They should have waited, maybe another year, beefed up their numbers and training, been fully supported, and with trained Cuban air support flying Cuban colors to support the liberation.  Once established on the ground, they could have openly broadcast they are there and ask for the support of the people and for logistical intervention of any friendly states.  US Navy and Air Forces could have kept the Russians at bay and the commies in Cuba would be over, the export of commie revolutionaries in Central & South America made harder, and millions made free.

Well, all that is piss in the river...it doesn't matter now, Obama bent over and the story won't end to either of our staisfaction.

About the only plus I see out of this is if normalization allows easier subversion...but not under Obama, not under any E-GOP stooge...

This is the era of failure, surrender and stupidity...the era of suicide...

Piss on it...

One of the reasons the embargo doesn't work great is:  we are the only ones embargoing.    Our so called allies have never supported the embargo,  not western europe,  not even Canada.   Europeans and Canadians vacation regularly in Cuba letting Castro earn hard currency.

Cuba was a wealthy nation before communism.   It also had a culture of entrepreneurism too.  Lots of medical industries too,  one of the reasons why Castro can run cash only hospitals for non Cubans.

The average Cuban will benefit little from Americans.    Raul just raised taxes on people working for these industries.   They will be allowed to take home 8% of their income...........92% goes to the state.
