Yesterday in testimony before a congressional committee James Clapper spoke from a soldier's point of view and correctly assessed the situation in Libya . In effect the balance of power is with Gadaffi and will probably remain so . He also , when presssed , accurately identified the real threats to our national security , i.e. Russia and Red China ... not ( to the consternation of committee members ) N. Korea and Iran .
Congress would rather be lied to than told the truth . Clapper's previous gaffs notwithstanding , his testimony was both refreshing and stunning !

Plus, I don't think he meant the Norks & Persians are not threats, just that they haven't risen to the level of a strategic threat as the first two.
But if The Regime (and this is where The Regime causes us endless sleepless nights!) cannot even handle the Iran situation, what confidence do we have they can man-up to Russia & China? Especially since their Russia policy is the retarded "reset" button and the fact that when the ChiCom's pull a string Obama dances!
We're still screwed anyway...as long as Barry is office!

Russia has opposed, or worked privately against, just about every major US foreign policy initiative since the end of the Korean War. They openly sell arms to America's enemies. And the ChiComs? Is not your mortgage holder (with a demand provision in the Note) the greatest threat to your family's financial well-being?

Yup. The Rooskies have been a pain in the butt. They lack the finese and long-term vision of the ChiCom's, the latter is running a dual-track attack on us - ecomomic warfare and military build-up, the former helping the latter fund their military ambitions! We've been way too fricken accomodating to both of them!

Known for sometime sticking his foot in his mouth, US Vice President Joe Biden delivered another trademark gaffe Thursday by mangling the name of Russia's most famous prisoner Mikhail Khodorkovsky.
"Over the past few months our administration has spoken out against allegations of misconduct in the trial of... of, uh... the, um... excuse me... Khodor... Kovinsky," said Biden, almost barking out the last word.
But Biden recovered quickly, adding a self-depreciating joke that instantly endeared him to the crowd.
"You can tell I did not do very well in Russian," Biden said sheepishly.
