Title: The white House wants to know what you think!
Post by: Weisshaupt on March 30, 2012, 02:41:04 PM
Fill out the survey (http://www.whitehouse.gov/tax-survey)

Its short, your email is not required, and it has long answer portions which are a lot of fun!

The inimitable Cee Lo Green provides an adequate answer to that question.

That is a BS survey, "Do you think the American Tax System is fair?"  Only a yes/no answer and no place to comment on why you think it is so.  They will assume that if you think it is not fair that means you want higher taxes on the higher earners.  I want to tell them that the lower 50% that pay no taxes need to be taxed!!  That is why I think it is unfair, or maybe the progressive tax rates is why, or maybe that taxes should be level set based on total income regardless of source, or a myriad of other reasons.  The second question is irrelevant too, "have you heard of the Buffet Rule".  Again Yes or No.  WTF  What kind of survey is this?  Who gives a sh*te if someone has heard of something, how about they give a brief description of the rule and ask if you support it or not.  And allow me to leave comments on every question!!!

No, the White House really really does not want to know what I think.

No, here's what he means Ben: When you choose an answer to their leading question, it opens up a text entry box in which you can write whatever you want. So for instance, on the "Are taxes fair" question, I said no. Then a text box opened asking how to make it more fair, and I "expanded" my answer.

Exactamundo....And I took full advantage.

I played politican...It led with a leading question, which I ignored and answered as I pleased.

My bad, I didn't fill it out cause I'm on a work computer and I don't need my employer being harassed by the gov when they trace back the IP address.  I'll do the survey from home tonight and give them what for.

My outfit is run by kool-aid drinkers, let them trace the IP!

Mmmm, then they will trace back your IP address?

I don't mind them having my IP address, but I sign a "Code of Conduct" form every year that says "I will not participate in any activity that could embarrass or bring hardship to the Company".  Having the "Goon Squad" harass my employer could lead to termination of my employment.  I really like my job (read "my paycheck").

We got those silly CYA disclaimers too Ben, standard boilerplate for most co's IT dept's, but since I could not attach the bird-flipping gif, let them try to quibble with the polite and accurate statements I posted!

They may. But then, ya know, if they want me, they already know where to find me. It's not like I'm secretive about my "disdain for the government" footprint.
