And if some Prog thinks they can jimmy a law or issue a decree or publish a regulation to deny what nobody on Earth can deny me...

In American Republic v2.0 the States need to have their "well regulated militia" restored to proper status.  By that I mean, the States should possess men under arms of equivalent capability to any Federal/Confederate forces.  The several States should possess their own combat aircraft for instance.  The National Guard is not a proper version of the States' individual militias. They are wholly subordinated to Washington DC, which is the exact opposite of the Founders' intent.

Yeah.  I thought about that too...problem is, doing it openly will set off flares.  Best do it in stealth mode...acquire land far out away from everybody...take over abandoned rural airports and the like...as many facilities like that as possible...coordinate with other like-minded states...any busybodies come poking around tell them to pound sand, and then have a coordinated unveiling of 10th Amendment backup!  Man, that would be sweet!!!

How many States though are politically stable and not controlled in the least by non-Progs?  I fear that boat sailed and sunk a long time ago...up to us after all.

Well in my fantasy it's Republic v2.0, so that means all the progs have already been dealt with :).  Essentially though we need some sort of counter to the national government, and it has to be a counter with real teeth.

I believe the Founders intended our armed forces to consist of a small professional cadre that in times of war would be augmented by units from the states. This isn't entirely unlike Old World armies, where regiments were raised in particular areas and then contributed to the larger army.

Yeah, I think if they had a ghost of Christmas Future show them how their descendants effed up the gift given to them they'd have tweaked things a bit...super-majorities for big decisions codified, tighter limits on the scope and scale of government...and most importantly giving the 10th Amendment some enumerated unassailable backbone.  Even if the latter meant the partitioning of the nation in 1860, it would have been preferable to the shat basket we've become.
