It was a horrible year for Republicans, Allen only lost by 1%, and the "macaca" thing was a despicable smear that won't stick to him again. Those are 3 reasons why I think a George Allen primary victory would not be a net negative. If things stay positive for Republicans he should win against the Dem in Va. He's a pretty conservative guy. I welcome the challenge from the Tea party though. I think the Tea party should try to elevate a candidate in every race, every cycle. Keep these bastards honest, or send them packing.
