I'm done with them!! Those damned things just aren't worth buying.I'll settle for electrics any day. I've wasted enough money on those pices of crap.

Always seem to get the cord wrapped around my foot.
I'm all AC except for drills, I like those handy. My
itching part is batteries, they wear out and it costs more
to replace the battery than to buy a new one. That's
nuts. It is also a market not exploited..

And that what sends me over the edge the damned batteries are more than the drills.I'm sick of buying drills. I must have bought 5 of theose damned things and my electrics are still perfect.Hundreds of dollars and very little time out of those things.

Cords work, all you need is a generator and/or a long extension cord to make them portable! Pneumatic tools work pretty good too if you have a compressor handy.

I have all kinds of air tools and a 3 horse compressor.

Y'all are doin' it wrong. You need a spare battery on the charger at all times, and the batteries don't last if you leave 'em in the tool to set in between uses; when you do use them, take them from the charger (plug in the spare) and make sure to drain them. Believe it or not, batteries must be "trained".
Laptop batteries are similar; every three months or so, they need to be run right out of power, then plugged in for recharging.
I don't make the rules, I just report.

Of course they have a finite lifespan, everything does, including the corded-tools.

I have a 1/4 horse corded early 1900's 1/4" drill that still works.
The drill is bigger than my 1/2 " Milwaukee cordless drill but remember you can use an old bicycle and motor to charge a cord less.

This is a bump for batteries. I haven't tried the above but I intend to.
I may never need to buy another drill again. I do know they battery pack
is as shown, at least it is on my current Walgreens drill. It stayed out all
night in the rain so I took it apart for the batteries etc to dry. Yes, it works.
I'm also looking to switch my headphones from ni-cad to li-ion batteries but
haven't found any worthwhile info yet.
