I am local to Mpls area and used to live in uptown even.
I do not keep up with local news.
I am awaye of the Riverside area giant multi colored, checkerboarded high rise public housing full of Somalis (I am told).
I am confused by your reference.
For others here, Kenwood is the tony area near the lakes where the swells live, and send their kids to private schools because it is in the Mpls public school district.

Mpls eliminated single family housing going forward. Something tells me Kenwood will find a way out of it.
Since I do not live in Kenwood, I think it could not happen to a better bunch of people.
Somaliwood has a nice ring to it.
What do you call a $500,000 house on the lakes in Kenwood?

OK, I made that up but I saw it done once, two adjacent expensive houses torn down to build a mansion.
For those here, the swells in Kenwood wanted light rail because they are libs, but did not want to have to see it. So they added a huge expense to hide from sight. I think they dug a ditch or something.

I cannot find a photo of the public housing with all the 'pretty colors' I recall just East of downtown Mpls. I recall blue and yellow and .....
BTW the Somali House member's district includes Kenwood. It is very close to downtown Mpls but the rif raf, until now, was kept out by home prices. median house value over $900K

I found the pretty (ugly) high rise in Mpls. I think one belongs in Kenwood near the swells.

i later realized that eliminating single family zoning in Mpls does not necessarily mean 10 or 100 units on a property. Maybe there can be limits of 4 or whatever.
So my dreams of seeing section 8 housing in Kenwood are dashed. ;-)
