European court rules that Switzerland “violated human rights” by not acting quickly enough to fight climate change

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has declared that the nation of Switzerland violated its citizens' human rights buy not doing enough to fight climate change.

In a landmark ruling with far-reaching implications, the Strasbourg court sided with a group of Swiss pensioners who accused their government of acting insufficiently to reduce so-called "carbon emissions," which in turn violated their human rights.

These members of the KlimaSeniorinnen group, supported by the environmental activism group Greenpeace, argued that older people were especially harmed by Switzerland's lack of climate hysteria. Many of these older folks supposedly died earlier than they should have because of excess heat caused by global warming.

The plaintiffs in the case also argued that climate change-related heat waves damage the mental wellbeing of older people more so than others because the elderly are much less able to go outside and withstand all the heat, which impacts their quality of life.

As insane as this all sounds, the ECHR said it agrees, citing Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights which protects the general right to life. Article 8 also guarantees the right to private and family life, something that Switzerland was deemed to have violated by not doing enough to stop carbon emissions.

Reuters: Ukraine disrupted deal on shipping in the Black Sea

The agency writes that Russia and Ukraine have been negotiating for two months on safe navigation in the Black Sea through the mediation of Turkey. The deal, according to sources, was close to being concluded, but Ukraine suddenly pulled out of the agreement at the last moment.

The reasons for Kiev’s actions are unknown: the preliminary agreement was concluded in March, and the Ukrainian side was not against the Turkish President publicly announcing the deal on March 30.

If the agreement had been concluded, Russia and Ukraine would have provided guarantees that they would not fire at ships carrying non-military cargo. Turkey acted as a mediator

This is  a FARA type law. IMO the NGOs are panicking and paying the protestors again. If passed, lots of Georgian politicians and NGOs will have to disclose massive US and EU payments.

??Protests against the draft law on "foreign agents" continue in Georgia. Earlier, it was approved by the parliamentary committee on legal issues, and today the deputies have begun to consider it.
Several thousand people, who opposed the planned innovations, gathered outside the parliament building.
To ensure the safety of the deputies, special forces officers arrived, who also installed a water cannon.
At the moment, the security forces have begun to disperse the protesters, using tear gas and detaining radical protesters, among other things. At the same time, the continuation of protests should be expected tomorrow, when the postponed vote on the law will take place.
The bill on foreign agents was widely discussed in Georgia back in March 2023, when it was withdrawn after a series of protests. However, in April of this year, it was again submitted for consideration.
At the same time, some media outlets again shared their assumptions that all the unrest is being rocked by the West in order to maintain the influence of their NGOs and various "independent media". However, as last year, so far everything in Tbilisi is taking place within the framework of a standard domestic political background.
And it is not worth pinning hopes that the adoption of the law will become the basis for the termination of the work of numerous Western organizations. It is unlikely that the Georgian government will change its political course and refuse to cooperate with the West although everything is possible.

A serious fight occurred in the Georgian parliament during the consideration of the controversial law on foreign agents; the parliament interrupted the broadcast.

Inna's note: I like Georgia: beatiful landscapes, ancient cities, great food and passionate people!

Listening to the YT channels makes me think that Iran coordinated with US on the missile strike and Us told Israel not to retaliate.
Iran did not try to hit civilian areas for PR purposes. Iran used mostly old stuff and maybe did not use any hypersonics.
I always thought Iran would hit a big city. IMO in a real war they would.

Some French warship fighting houthis left station after 71 days as they ran out of ammo.

some senior military guy said he met with various ME govts and military over the years. He said the govts do not support the palis and support Israel. BUT their military obey their govts but do not back Israel. this includes us military who have not forgotten USS Liberty.
