Title: Grandson update:
Post by: John Florida on June 26, 2012, 07:51:56 PM
Well it looks like that Birth till three is showing progress,I don't know if it's a big deal but it's a big deal to us. They have been teaching him sign language for basic thing s like,"more" or cracker and little things like that and he seems to be picking it up OK.

But last week out of nowhere he heard one of his friends say OH OH and he repeated it then again out of no place his dad was Stern with him and Cole looked at his father and said "mom" asking to go to his mom. Today when birth till three showed up to work with him they asked him to sit at the table where they work and he looked at them and shook hi head and said,"no no no"so they waited a few minutes and tried to get him again and he repeated the same thing.

What gives me hope is that he did it at the right time, twice.

And just listen to what this kid eats:

Heh, cute little guy.  Has his own pace, I like the mid feeding rest, then, pack more in.  Atta boy!

I think he eats better than I do!

 ;D

ETA - My sisters youngest learned sign, most young kids seem to pick up those meanings pretty quick.

The hard part is being positive at all times I have a wife and daughter that are crushed by the whole mess. Not that they don't absolutely unconditionally love the child it's that they didn't want anything like this to happen to him because of a fear from other kids being kids and tormenting him.

Most of this is in my daughters head as she's trying to fortell the future which last I looked she didn't have any ability to know. But these for me are landmarks for his development and I see it as onwards and upwards.

And thanks guys for the support.

So very much can be accomplished through early identification and intervention, and ongoing therapeutic treatment of these kinds of issues. There is much to be hopeful for, from what little I know about your little man.
