Title: Gun bill introduced by....Republicans
Post by: Glock32 on October 11, 2017, 03:02:15 PM
So some GOP rep from Florida has introduced a bill to ban firearm "rate increasers."  If what MAC says in the video below is true (I have not yet read the language of the bill) then this is a very slippery slope indeed.  If an increased rate is to be outlawed, doesn't that call into question what a "normal" rate is?  Definitely ripe for deliberate misinterpretation.

Besides, I can bump fire a rifle with my finger only. Does that make it a "rate increasing device"?

They really don't understand English, do they:  "shall not be infringed".

It's f**king bullsh*t!

To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit the manufacture, possession,
or transfer of any part or combination of parts that is designed
and functions to increase the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle
but
does not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machinegun, and for
other purposes.

These assholes can kiss my fat rebellious ass!

Damn, every fricken time I see the words "Republican", "gun" and "bill" combined...we are being betrayed, the Constitution is being betrayed...the very Founding of this nation is being betrayed!!!

No, no effing way.  I do not recognize any laws passed by latter day tyrants from any goddamned party, if passed I will not obey, if challenged I will fight.

And yes, like you, my fricken finger is the first best trigger rate control!  Molan Labe!

Taking the last box away from us?  They better come hard!

They thirst for death.

"Shall not" = "No!"  No means no, damnit!  And there is NO EXPIRATION!

And this right was merely codified/ratified in 1791...the issue date came from God Almighty on Day 1!

PS - I wonder if there is a relation here with stupid-ass bills in Congress?

Way to broad this needs to be specific to a named item.. Bump stocks to me serve no purpose in my life so if they go I don't cre but if they try to use them to broadly cover whatever may come to mind is out.

What happens if my finger is faster than other people do they ban my finger??? Not joking either.

Exactly, it's like MAC said in that video, if a certain rate of fire is deemed to be "normal" then does that mean competition target triggers with a short take up now count as "rate increasers"?

Will anything lighter than a 20 pound trigger with 3 inches of take up be considered a rate increasing device?  By the language of the bill, it could be if some regulatory asshats decided so.  And that would be a question of when, not if.

This is particularly troublesome to be introduced by a Republican in a Republican-controlled Congress with a Republican in the White House. A lot of these sh1theads might be inclined to vote for it, thinking they have some sort of implicit permission since "our side" is in charge.

NRA idiots do it again...

Words don't matter, they can be twisted to match NFI descriptions...making it easier to ban certain elements now...and everything later.

The time to accept the label of "lawless" "outlaw" and "rebel" are upon us.  Being called thus by fascists should be viewed as an honor.
