I got in a few fights, won most, lost a couple. Never fought the same guy twice. Most times they resulted in mutual respect after the fact. I even did some bullying, much to my regret later in life.

But these kids aren't doing either of those things. They are savaging and brutalizing a defenseless person, without conscience or restraint. If he'd not have run away, it appears to me that they would have eventually killed him. He was one head-slam against the pavement; one kick to the face; one head-first tackle into the wall - away from serious injury or death.

I think these punks deserve whatever they have coming to them, and I hope its the very worst.

I understand your point entirely. I agree that the photos at the link are way too risque. But I don't see what is too over-the-top offensive about her stadium bleacher dance. Is it a little provocative? Sure. But as far as mainstream examples of provocative trash being inculcated into the culture, there is a lot, lot, lot worse than that.

You're sure right that the absence of standards is a slippery slope.

I didn't mean you were suggesting she should be drowned, only that the line for unacceptable behavior is subjective and resides on a spectrum. In other words, depending on how far we want to go back, the standards for unacceptable behavior cross a line somewhere. A reverse line, where no moral good is achieved - or even great evil is committed - by the application of the standard.
