Wayne LaPierre to call for Eric Holder's resignation
« on: April 29, 2011, 03:30:29 PM »
Not that he'll get the result he's asking for, but it's a pretty high-profile move. This "Gunrunner" BS cannot be allowed to coast under the radar. It's a scandal of great magnitude.

Wayne LaPierre to call for Eric Holder's resignation

The National Rifle Association has Attorney General Eric Holder in its sights.

Sources tell CBS News that NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre is expected to call for Holder's resignation in a speech Saturday morning at the Association's annual meeting in Pittsburgh.

LaPierre has accused Holder of trying to "destroy the Second Amendment" and has been critical of the Department of Justice handling of "Project Gunrunner," a program intended to stop the flow of weapons to Mexican drug cartels.

But as CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reported last month, ATF agents charge the program actually helped get thousands of guns into the hands of criminals.

"When does it stop being law enforcement and start being a criminal enterprise? Innocent people are dying. It makes no sense at all." LaPierre told CBS News last month.

Attorney General Holder has asked the Inspector General to investigate the allegations.

In a statement today the Department of Justice told CBS News "We have invited the NRA to join us and other stakeholders from across the spectrum in working to find common sense solutions to keep guns out of the hands of people who are not legally allowed to possess them. They have yet to come to the table with any productive suggestions, but we hope they will reconsider."

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Whaat!?  Talk about gall!  That "statement" has about five tons of royal f**k you in it.

"Stakeholders" is a UN/Agenda 21 word.  I'm always suspicious of its use, causing great suspicion of the user.

LaPierre came to the table with the most productive suggestion of all -- Holder has got to go.

That's a neat little turn of phrase.  Apparently the government gets to decide who is "not legally allowed" to possess guns.  I believe Nazi Germany had similar laws.

Evidently the phrase "shall not be infringed" is not in their vocabulary.

Yes they're always looking for "solutions" because the literally thousands of existing federal, state, and local laws are just not onerous enough. And I have the same reaction to the word "stakeholder". It reminds me of the BS buzzwords taught in a mandatory Communications class I took in college. Besides, when we're talking about Constitutionally enumerated freedoms I do believe the "stakeholders" include every single citizen.

Here's one solution I will provide to the DoJ free of charge: to keep guns out of the hands of people not legally allowed to possess them, stop having the self-same agency tasked with enforcing that dictum strongarming dealers into deliberately allowing denied persons to acquire guns.

NRA is late to the party, but I think LaPierre is making a miscalculation. Holder's not going anywhere and the NRA will lose some sway. And given how thin-skinned and vindictive POSOTUS is, I think the NRA is setting themselves up for an audit and some charges. If not real soon, then after the election.
'Cuz barry's gettin' re-elected gonna' steal another election.

Common sense suggestions(oxymoron) He' want them to just agree with him. If he wants criminals not to get guns the DOJ should not be working with DHS in selling them guns. How's that for common sense don't let them take guns across the border.

A productive suggestion?

 ::cussing:: morons!

A.  Law abiding should not have their right to bear arms infringed, period!

B.  Buildings banning guns makes no sense and merely announces to criminals the pickings are easy!

C.  Criminals found with guns should be tried under tough laws, convicted and executed, period.

Productive suggestion made!

Oh, and yeah...Erica Holder's resignation, don't leave that one out!
