Bill is such a polarizing figure that too many on the right were ready to toss him under the bus. I wasn't and I didn't. I think he's oftentimes a blowhard but he got a raw deal.

I'd give anything to see media matters taken down - preferably as a domestic terrorist organization.

After that incident 10 years or so ago, when he was audio taped on a woman's voicemail basically having one-sided phone-sex, my opinion of this guy changed. The creepy message was just a creepy message, and I have no idea whether it was solicited from the woman or not. But he is a married man, and a senior citizen, and that gave us a snapshot into the egomaniacal mindset of Bill O'Reilly. I leave others to judge his sexual depravity on whatever moral scale they use.

All that, to say that nothing in the sexual realm surprises me with Bill O'Reilly. I happen to think he's the exact kind of guy who would use his money and power as a shield while engaging in whatever sordid creepy sexual behaviors that he thinks he can get away with.

BUT, even if the accusations are false, his own behavior and attitude opened him up to the charge. Powerful men need to take extra steps to protect themselves against licentious charges, and he did the opposite.

No sympathy.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Which is what VP Pence has/had done -- not attending alcohol-serving functions without his wife/not dining alone with other women -- and the 411 on that came out, during O'Reilly's tribulations, to much scathing mockery and pearl-clutching (he's not giving women the same networking opportunities!!) by the Left.

I'm neither surprised nor shocked by O'Reilly's behavior, alleged or otherwise.  We stopped watching him long ago because he's an arrogant, know-it-all blowhard.
