More from the theater of the absurd...
...this time, from Oregon.

Quote
A rural Oregon man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in jail and over $1,500 in fines because he had three reservoirs on his property to collect and use rainwater.

Gary Harrington of Eagle Point, Ore., says he plans to appeal his conviction in Jackson County (Ore.) Circuit Court on nine misdemeanor charges under a 1925 law for having what state water managers called “three illegal reservoirs” on his property – and for filling the reservoirs with rainwater and snow runoff.

This one of those situations where bureaucratic overreach is so offensive that everyone involved in the attempt to enforce this law should be tarred and feathered.

Jeepers.
Out here they are, technically, stock tanks and commonly referred
to as tanks unless you want to sell to a city folk then it's referred
to as a pond.

But I'm only "stealing" it for long enough to water my garden - the rest works it's way downstream in any event.

If that's the case, you're just borrowing it. Look for the guv to charge rent on usage....
