I had no idea.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I thought Brown-Forman owned Knob Creek but this shows Suntory does, because Knob Creek was made I thought in a JD distillery, they had to have been sold recently.  The other companies I couldn't have recognized if you asked me.

Upon closer examination, just off the top of my head, there are a couple popular brands I don't see on the list. Crown Royal and Seagram's 7 don't appear.

I guess this explains Seagram's. I wonder if the 5 unopened bottles in my liquor cabinet for the last decade will be worth anything down the road?

If ya don't drink 'em, ya might be able to trade 'em or light 'em and chuck 'em at an enemy!   ;)

At least there are four companies (yet).

It could be like the diamond business with DeBeers as the international cartel and nobody else.

Yeah I don't see George Dickel on the list either.

I know that name, Irish Whiskey?  Never dabbled in much of that, mostly rye-based isn't it?

Dickel?  It's a Tennessee whiskey.  I don't really drink the stuff, I'm a beer man.  When I occasionally have a mixed drink I usually get a George Dickel and Coke, or a gin and tonic.  I am simple that way.
