I guess I didn't know he was a liberal democrat...not unusual for that industry, but I don't have any immediate recollections of him going out of his way to be an ass, so that's something.
I did want to note the passing of the last of the original Magnificent Seven. Eight years later he would rejoin Steve McQueen in Bullet, playing the smarmy DA Walter Chalmers.
He was the last of the Magnificent Seven, outliving Eli Wallach by about a year and a half. Fabulous movie, all done on the fly. Just can't get a cast like that together now days.
