Ukrainians now filing treason charges against the traitor Admiral who defected to Russia.  Not that it matters.  Should just shoot him via sniper.

http://news.sky.com/story/1219922/russia-and-china-in-agreement-over-ukraine

Putin issues ultimatum to Ukrainian forces in Crimea, threatens "military storm".  Awesome, they are even sounding like they are recycling Soviet rhetoric.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/03/world/europe/ukraine-tensions/index.html

I guess Obama and Biden look like shytheads now for ridiculing Palin and Romney for calling Russia a significant foe now, don't they?  Huh?  What?  Oh, the media not mentioning that, eh?  Well sure, can't make Duh Wun and his trusty skidplate appear buffoonish (aka themselves) now, can they?

And once again this has to be the final staw in NATO's back...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/ukraine/10671729/Nato-warns-that-Russia-is-risking-Europes-peace-and-security.html

...they are as useless as John "Ghengis" Kerry.

 ::mooning::

Putin plays chess, Europe plays twister and Obama plays pocket-pool...

Yeah, this will end horribly...

ETA - Russia denies ultimatum...I guess we'll know for sure soon enough...

Ultimatums continue to fly...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/10674512/Kremlin-issues-ultimatums-to-Ukrainian-forces.html

And Gazprom masters threaten to go all-in...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-04/it-begins-gazprom-warns-european-gas-supply-disruptions-possible

I think it is time to call their bluff.  If they think they can extort their way into acquiring a puppet state then let them try.  Perhaps this should all just end in blood and misery for everyone in the region.  Some lessons just cannot be learned the easy way.  Letting a bully get away with his abuse makes you the problem, not him.  The bully has never really changed, he may have donned new clothes and adopted new camoflauge, but the core of the bully remains.  You either bloody him or you take your beating and enjoy every second of it.

But let them fire the first shot.  Those Ukranian sailors on these ships and the soldiers at their bases should be taunting and mooning these goons...they should be playing music the Russians hate through loud speakers all night and day to keep them from sleeping comfortably...they should be shooting flares and starburst in the air just to let them know they are there and waiting...

Forget the US, the Obama Regime is about as useful as the UN, which is to say they aren't worth a rats ass...forget the EU, if they like being extorted, then let them buy the Russians off...otherwise the Ukrainians should tell them to fukc off too.  It may just fall to them to suffer the price for revealing a bully to the rest of the useless world...and hopefully they make the bully bleed enough to make it easier for the next intended victim to resist.

Meanwhile...

Turkey gettin' itchy about Rooskie recon flights...

Rooskie ships blocking the Kerch Straight...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-04/celebrate-detente-russian-navy-blocks-channel-between-crimea-and-russia

OK, now that is begging for a Maine-splosion!

And more ships of the move, two Rooskie and one Ukrainian...

Last one floating wins.

And yet more spewing from Moscow...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-04/putin-advisor-threatens-dumping-us-treasurys-abandoning-dollar-if-us-proceeds-sancti

What a tool.  Go ahead, dump our bonds, you'd be doing us a favor!  But umm, y'all might want to check with your Gazprom masters before doing anything...

One point raised at Western Rifle Shooters is that you might want to buy any cheap Russian ammo while it's still available. If you have a 5.45 or 7.62x39 to feed, most of that ammo comes from either Russia or Ukraine. The Obama Regime might cynically use this situation as an opportunity to ban imports of Russian ammo, sort of like Clinton did with Chinese imports in the 90s.

Good call, wouldn't surprise me at all.

Oh, and on Europe's energy front, more background info shedding light on the Russia-Ukraine conflict...to say Gazprom is not concerned is a gross understatement.  Even Putin answers to somebody(s)!

Putin to reporter on what might happen if Ukraine is invaded...

Rough translation: “If we attack we will put their women and children in front of us and I’ll look on as they shoot their own children and women”

I like this.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-05/rt-anchor-turns-down-offer-report-crimea-resigns-protest-biased-coverage

Too bad our own jurnolistas are too corrupted by progressive ideology and too beholden to their cult leaders to perform similar random acts of common sense...

And here we go...I've been saying a partition might be the way to go, but this is more of a annexation ala Hitler marching his troops into the Sudetenland than a peaceful diplomatic understanding...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-06/crimea-parliament-accelerates-crisis-votes-join-russia

Two rather stark bits of irony here...

1) I guess ol' Putin finds it OK to accept some gun-toting boots-on-the-ground scary thugs to secure one hunk of territory and call it legitimate (Crimea) while another (Kiev) is totally illegitimate even though the latter at least has a Parliament behind its actions...what does Putin have...just guys with weapons on territory historically never theirs in the first place?

2) How is "creating facts on the ground" in Crimea with these armed goons not several orders of magnitude worse than anything Israel has ever done in Judea that they and the rest of the tools at the UN accuse them of doing to the poor AK-47-toting Palestinians?

Oh, and once again, I want to harp on the utter uselessness of NATO!  Talk about asleep at the switch!  But both they and Russia are violating the December 5th 1994 Budapest Memorandum (aka Memorandum on Security Assurances in connection with Ukraine's accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons):

The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,

Welcoming the accession of Ukraine to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons as a non-nuclear-weapon State,

Taking into account the commitment of Ukraine to eliminate all nuclear weapons from its territory within a specified period of time,

Noting the changes in the world-wide security situation, including the end of the Cold War, which have brought about conditions for deep reductions in nuclear forces.

Confirm the following:

1.The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the CSCE Final Act, to respect the Independence and Sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine.

2.The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their obligation to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine, and that none of their weapons will ever be used against Ukraine except in self-defense or otherwise in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.

3.The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the CSCE Final Act, to refrain from economic coercion designed to subordinate to their own interest the exercise by Ukraine of the rights inherent in its sovereignty and thus to secure advantages of any kind.

4.The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to seek immediate United Nations Security Council action to provide assistance to Ukraine, as a non-nuclear-weapon State Party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, if Ukraine should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used.

5.The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm, in the case of the Ukraine, their commitment not to use nuclear weapons against any non-nuclear-weapon State Party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, except in the case of an attack on themselves, their territories or dependent territories, their armed forces, or their allies, by such a state in association or alliance with a nuclear weapon state.

6.The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will consult in the event a situation arises which raises a question concerning these commitments.

This Memorandum will become applicable upon signature.

Signed in four copies having equal validity in the English, Russian and Ukrainian languages.

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Ukraine._Memorandum_on_Security_Assurances

It is obvious the Russians have been violating the economic coercion and territorial integrity clauses and that the US and Britain (basically NATO) are violating the pledge to Ukraine for the integrity of their borders and ensuring the sovereignty of their nation.  One might quibble that there was an unspoken expiration date for said support, but seeing as that since the Soviet Union disintigrated Russia under Putin has been nothing but trying to regain her former size by proxy, so the agreement in a practical sense still looks to be in play.

God I loath feckless politicans and diplomats...what useless dreck!

Oh, and once again for the record...Kissinger is a pompous ass and his stupid plan will mean a defacto annexation of Crimea by Russia.

Isn't it funny (we'll stick with that word for now) how these bastards presume to negotiate the disposition of things that aren't theirs to negotiate?  Diplomats and foreign policy wonks deciding to carve up other countries, or legislators and presidents negotiating other people's property and rights.

All of this precedes from a fundamental assumption that everything is theirs to begin with -- and that's exactly how government operates, like it's all theirs.

Yes, and Vladi is popular now that the war drums are beating to the tune of the recycled Soviet Gosudarstvenny Gimn Rossiyskoy Federatsii!

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-06/mission-accomplished-putins-approval-rating-hits-2-year-highs

Oh, and the Markov plan is almost the same as the Kissinger plan, so Sergei can outside with Henry and play hide and go screw themselves!

 ::mooning::

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-06/russian-perspective-there-will-be-war-ukraine

It appears there will be war....Russia just needs to create the right false flag moment, and it appears the obvious choice would be at one of the Ukrainian bases surrounded by Rooskies.  All they have to do is infiltrate and fire on their own troops over the wire and they'll have the fine little war Vlad has been jonesing for.

And all that blood can be laid right at the doorstep of the US and Europe as well as Russia.
