Superbowl ad .......
Cadillac ELR Commercial : 'Poolside' The First Ever 2014 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4wNMOapzyw#ws)
No sex, no nudity, no violence. WTF is so objectionable? The hard work ethic.

It was great until he unplugged the damn thing.

Yah, well, nothing's perfect. And it wasn't enough to keep the Lefties from scoffing, sneering and shrieking.
-
I saw a critique of this ad a day or two after it aired for the first time. The slant (I think it was either Allah or Ace) was basically that repackaging envirowacko greenism in a robust, nationalistic, Americano package was clever but transparent.
So the Lefties aren't liking the whole work-ethic thingy, huh? They want high energy cost, high vehicle cost, meaningless tranfer of energy use from petro to electro that gains no measurable environmental benefits... and they want it all to happen... because. Not because of hard work, or the ingenuity that comes from persistence, dedication, or *gasp* self-interest. They just think it should be that way... because... and we should all just go along... because.
I'm so through with behaving as if these assholes are of any value to the world whatsoever. The whole world would be better off if they were all [gone].

I liked this ad when I first saw it (but I groaned when I realized it was an eco-car). The reality is that the only way the eco-car will be successful is if they can convince hard working Americans to buy them HENCE this commercial.

Ughh, another nice looking car ruined by a lame powertrain.
Imagine a small block V-8 with rear drive under the hood of that. Now that would be nice.

I agree.
I was reading a linked article last night and stumbled across this little bit of wretchedness (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2010/07/29/cuckolding-the-sex-fetish-for-intellectuals.html) and thought, "This is the default demographic for electric cars," so Cadillac is merely trying to broaden their marketshare past the left-wing mental basket cases that they already have a lock on.

Does Caddie still make their "Northstar" engine? It was or is supposed to be very reliable and powerful.

I don't know if they still call it that.
Caddy seems to be finally waking from its decades long slumber for sure. Buick, unfortunately is still boring and still on the endangered list. If I had the money, I think I would be interested in the ATS sedan or the upcoming coupe.

I always felt that Buick should have been trashed instead of Oldsmobile.

All those brands should have been spun off into new independent companies. At least that's what the free market could have done with them had they been allowed.
