Barack Obama continued to blame Bush and lecture on the national deficit yesterday at a town hall event in Reno. The far left president blamed Bush and tax cuts for the current financial crisis. He also told the crowd of leftist supporters,
“We can’t just let the rich relax and count their money.”

Absolutely. History is full of such people, whether petty Third World dictators or infamous ones like Hitler and Stalin. His "Mussolini chin lift" tells you everything you need to know.
Plus his propaganda machine has been working overtime -- in concert with the more generalized propaganda of the Left for decades -- to convince his supporters that they are righting a wrong. This makes them all the more dangerous, because they will do what they do with the approval of their own conscience.

First he runs around spending us into oblivion and now he's looking for money to make the payments. How about we cut a couple of trillinn and kill the hell care bill right out of the box. The liar in chief didn't want to cut anything in his budget then he comes out and wants to look line by line to cut expenses.
So which is it make cuts or just look around to see if he can find anything to cut?? If he can't find anything then what keep spending?

I think many do Dan, there is a lot of NIMBY going on when it comes to specifics, people used to parasitical behavior or the belief that someone they know requires it for survival cuts off greater support for cutting back the largesse. Others just can't be reached, and others still lose firmness of spine when put on defense of bogus claims by the left of benefiting the rich at the expense of the poor. What really gets my goat is the ignorant beleif that soaking the rich will solve all our problems. They could confiscate all of the wealth of the top 10% of earners and still fall short of solvency, so who do they think they will come after next?! It will cycle to lower and lower earners until all is confiscated...because they will never cut off the flow of dependency inducing goodies with OPM! Confiscation and punishment of success is their goal, and only collapse and chaos can come of it!

I agree, however, in the cases I reference, they're not leftists; they're usually mostly decent people who just do not want to have to make the necessary and unforeseen sacrifices to their own comfort and that of their children in order to care for another.
Case in point: my uncle, former GM-employee, pension, health insurance bennies, and privately saved retirement money, with an always wayward daughter; drunk/drug addict, he'd had to go collecting her in the wee hours of the morning from the worst places in the heart of Trenton (NJ). After a time, and rehab, she'd gotten some of her act together and married another just like her -- and then they bred. Twice.
They have no future-orientation sense, are very bad with money, have been back on the sauce periodically and have been collecting from the taxpayers in one form or another for the past 25 years. He's thrown them money, helped them get a house ::rollseyes:: but despite his grandson's pleas to let him come live with my uncle, and his mother's okay, Uncle wouldn't take him. And he's perfectly fine with the idea that his daughter always has her hand out for OPM, as long as it isn't on him in the main.
Well, he's more worried about taking care of himself -- his daughter isn't going to and can't -- but he was too selfish to do what he could for his grandson, thus throwing away a possible improvement in his own chances of someone who could and would tend to him when the time came.
Maybe I see it wrong, or I'm too judgmental, or don't know the whole story, I don't know. What I do know is I see too much of this type of thing coming from otherwise "decent" people.
I've already written on this board that we're willing to deal with whatever comes up regarding my parents, knowing there's no younger generation at hand to back us up, but I don't know how many folks have resolved themselves to the same.

True. They may not be leftists, but they are caught within the same disease, and leftists see value in stringing these people along on all of their dependencies. They've been made into serfs, incapable of surviving without the beneficence of progressives. Easily manipulated with fear to oppose any efforts to ween them off of their dependency! And this is where the complete breakdown of the family bears its poisonous fruit...who else can they turn to?! Who else understands their addictions and dependencies? They've been manipulated by evil and can only be made to confront their willingness to subjugate themselves to wicked plans by cold-turkey withdrawal from their dependencies and tough love, otherwise they are condemned to their fate.
I know that sounds hard-assed, and maybe it is. But breaking any dependency is impossible without some pain. I am fortunate that I have parents who instilled a strong sense of family into their children. My clan is tight knit, and we all support each other. I think you and many hear are also from strong families. I cannot imagine how difficult it must be for broken families, and it is the lefts unrelenting, intentional and truly evil policies that create such misery, and I damn every one of them for it! Is it possible to calculate how many lives, how many souls have been destroyed by progressives in this nation? Does it exceed the number they've destroyed through abortion? Throw abortion in and the number of lives ruined must exceed anything Stalin accomplished!
