Worth the time to read. It also reflects the reason that left wing radio fails - who can stand so much negativity!!

How far left was I? So far left my beloved uncle was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party in a Communist country. When I returned to his Slovak village to buy him a mass card, the priest refused to sell me one. So far left that a self-identified terrorist proposed marriage to me. So far left I was a two-time Peace Corps volunteer and I have a degree from UC Berkeley. So far left that my Teamster mother used to tell anyone who would listen that she voted for Gus Hall, Communist Party chairman, for president. I wore a button saying "Eat the Rich." To me it wasn't a metaphor.

It's a long read, but pretty good.

I am going to argue that this person was never really a leftist, because she never saw people as "things" - probably because of Point 6 - She Believes in God.
A Belief in God enables you see God in those you meet and in your interactions with others , and once you do that, it becomes ever so much more difficult to harm them. She basically admits as much when she says " I decided that I wanted to spend time with people building, cultivating, and establishing, something that they loved." People acting LIKE God and not Like Satan.

From the article:
I do have right-wing friends now and they do get angry and they do express that anger. But when I encounter unhinged, stratospheric vituperation, when I encounter detailed revenge fantasies in scatological and sadistic language, I know I've stumbled upon a left-wing website.
Or, I might add, when you encounter a leftist troll on a right-wing site.
Please also note the condition of a public venue after a left-wing and then a right-wing group has utilized it. The condition of the site speaks volumes.

I kinda hit a "uhh, what?" point at number six too, but there are lots of lefties who believe in God, or rather say that they do...I have Cafeteria Catholic friends that think they alone can decide to pick and choose which of God's commandments are real and what can be ignored, same for Church doctirne etc...and other denominations too, they all have one thing in common - what they don't like, they discard...beliefs, thoughts...people...

The main barrier a belief in God presents to the designs of the Left is that a belief in God elevates Him above the state. Leftists cannot abide that. The state is their church. Ever since Nietzsche wrote "God is dead", the Left has been busy inserting the state into that (according to them) vacant position. All the horrors of the 20th century are the fruit of it. As the article points out, the Left will break any number of eggs in pursuit of its omelette.
This contest of visions really is as old as mankind itself. The Christian position is that man is a fallen being, stained with original sin. Without God's salvation, man is hopelessly lost. The secular Left rejects this, of course. On the contrary, they believe man and his societies are perfectible through the application of "scientific socialism". The difference in visions cannot be overstated. The theistic (primarily Christian) vision acknowledges man as an imperfect being, which makes it inherently aware that an earthly pursuit of utopia is doomed to failure. The secular Left believes, through its enlightened ministration, that all the power and knowledge ascribed to God can be theirs. You can virtually see the serpent whispering into their ears, enticing them to partake of the fruit.
So if you ask me, that is the distilled difference between these two competing visions. Ours is the view that man is an inherently sinful being, and the best we can do on the earthly plane is try and mitigate our sinful nature through a respect for life, liberty, and property (happiness). Theirs is the view that any social ill real or imagined can be fixed by turning over control to them. Both of these visions already have an established track record, and it continues to mystify me that there is even an argument to be had.

Yeah, but argue we will...just plan on arguing at a higher FPS & ROF than our enemies. ;)

That's the part that kills me (figuratively .... for now); they're no less fallen than the rest, but they either ignore that or disbelieve it.
Sometimes I think all the Mother Gaia worship bullspt is atonement for their own unacknowledged evil.

"...their own unacknowledged evil."
Some will be acknowledging it on the way out...or it'll just hurt more...
