One can quibble over the military expenditures, I find the dumbing of the population being much more problematic and detrimental to future happiness.  I guess it means when the vast idiotic herd goes stampeding the level of destruction should be expected to be a lot worse than anticpated...

Sure as heck seems validated in terms of political trajectory though...
