God films have been lower quality for a long time. Then Mel revealed a market with "Passion". But in its wake, mostly low-budget, low name recognition films filled the void. Film makers like Alex Kendrick did an admirable job of creating watchable films, and each one he's done has gotten better, but they've all lacked star power and big-time spit & polish of a Hollywood film.
Woodlawn (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4183692/) is made by the Erwin Brothers - you may remember them from a movie a couple years ago called "Mom's Night Out". I never saw that, but read some mixed reviews. Sean Astin was in that film as well. Now they add additional star power with Jon Voigt and C.Thomas Howell. The trailer looks pretty darn good. I'm a sucker for an inspirational football movie...

From the IMDB link -
"Love and unity in a school torn by racism and hate in the 1970s."
Not usually a truthful affair when Hollywood tackles racism and hate...hope this is one of the exceptions...
Kinda hard to tell just off the trailer, but, it looks promising...

I'm not usually big on football movies, but this looks promising.
The only sport related flick I've enjoyed was "We Are Marshal".

That was a good one. I also liked Remember the Titans, Gridiron Gang, Facing the Giants, and Rudy.
