I came across this in the most accidental sort of way. A commenter on a twitter piece tossed in this link along in an otherwise utterly forgettable post. Why did I follow the link when I had no idea where it would take me? I can't say - but I'm glad that I did.

It's comforting to know that my mindset is shared with others...and others with [potential] means. On the rare occasions I share my pragmatic core thoughts with people...they're alarmed (which is why I usually remain quiet). But a small, sustained dose of violent savagery, publicly displayed, would solve a great deal of the problem as well as the momentum it has been gaining...

You're right Pablo, and it wouldn't take much.
I had lunch with my brother yesterday and afterward we reconvened at his place. We were sitting out on the front porch when a neighbor of his dropped by. This neighbor is by all accounts a "staunch conservative" and my brother is grooming her to organize a tenant's union in the mobile home park where they live.
She came up on the porch and chit-chatted with him for several minutes before she noticed his firearm, which he had removed from his belt and placed on a side table.
"Is that a......weapon?!" she asked with horror.
"Why yes it is" he replied, "You want to see it?"
She backed her way off the porch before I could do my best Crocodile Dundee impression with my .45 ("That's not a weapon - this is a weapon!")
If this is representative of the current state of conservatives just imagine the reaction from a lib (I have, having gone though a similar experience with a former girlfriend). We have become a nation of sheep, with too few shepherds and far, far too many wolves. When it happens even many conservatives will be taken by surprise.

He's put/ting a book together, so his posting is sporadic. I stopped checking his site when he posted the pix of the "mouth zits" of one of his fares. Ewwwwwww .

great subject, I really didn't quite "get it" when I joined this group, but you are right on target about where the rot is in this nation. I am more willing to wait for the national High Colonic we will need to purify this nation and start anew. My children have come to this opinion on all there own so I feel like I have done my job.
I will continue to read your comments as coming from the well ensconced true american spirit that is alive a well just below the radar. you give me hope.

I'll tell you the plain, unvarnished truth whimsicalmamapig, more days than not I don't get it either. That's why I'm here. I'm just a sad sack trying to find answers and sharing what little nuggets I've found. If we all knew the answers I guess we probably wouldn't be saying much (I don't think any of us are like Øbongo and infatuated with the sound of our own voices).
