Title: Hellman's mayonnaise

       Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 cases of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico , which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York . This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico . But as we know, the great ship did not make it to  New York . The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico , who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as -Sinko De Mayo.

Other than Cinco de Mayo being a made up holiday by the Mexican Beer Mfg. Cartel, the real reason behind the May 5 Mexican Victory over the French:

Mexico defaulted on loans from the Europeans. France got pissed and figured they would send in troops to collect. By the time the French troops got to Puebla, they had run out of wine and were pissed off about being in a hot, stinkin, Third World Country. When a dozen or so Mexican "militia" started shooting, the French did what the French have been best at for 200 years: They yanked it into reverse and headed back to the coast. Loosely translated from the French: "Bump dat, Let Napolian III collect his own damn debts.

Or sumptin like that.

Correct Charles, Mexican Independence Day is September 16th, this May 5th BS is a load of crap.
