I aborted my commute this morning after driving for an hour and only getting about half way in, snow was building and so was the traffic and accidents...I had a few close calls myself and actually spun out once bet kept it on the freeway and didn't hit anybody or anything...enough of that crap.
I guess I stay in and keep my nuts warm.

No one was out with the salt, this morning, as the main event isn't due until afternoon. No one predicted the leftovers from Iowa's storm, sneaking north, before Colorado's storm hammers us.

Glad you're okay, Libertas. It's November and you don't have snow tires on yet? In Minnie? Hang yer haid.

Weather here in western Washington is pretty moderate for the most part. We've been unusually cold for the last two weeks with temperatures into the the mid twenties. We typically only see snow once or twice a season - last year we got none at all.
In years past I had a company vehicle and in 2008 they upgraded me to a all-wheel drive Ford Escape so that I could be mobile in the worst of weather. Well they took that away from me and I got the message loud and clear.
So no snow tires for me. If it gets bad enough to require them, it's too bad for me to be doing any driving.
F 'em.
