Title: Stuart Varney explains Socialist Education
Post by: rustybayonet on February 27, 2016, 08:45:13 AM
I guess this could go in other 'Topics', but it does cover more than one so ---

Last night on one of the 'talking heads' shows he explained his life in Britain, covering education and taxes during a time of their socialist 'experiment'.

Everyone had to take a test at sixteen, those that received the "free" college education totaled 2% only, for those tested. The rest where subjected to a life of blue collar jobs only, unless they [ or family] could afford to pay the approx. $100K cost.  Keep in mind this was years ago when he was a teenager.

As far as the taxes - during the same era the British tax rate was 90% for the 'non-elite'.  Today he indicated it's 'down' to 45%.

Any wonder why he moved?

No wonder at all.  It must pain him to see the U.S. hurtling toward the totalitarian abyss as we are.

The comparisons are why the discussion started.
