Title: Amazon Delivery Vans With ‘Roaming Eyes’ Cameras
Post by: Pandora on February 05, 2021, 09:53:33 PM
Fight For the Future, a digital rights group, says that beyond fueling the expansion of the police surveillance state, these cameras mean that even if you don't use Amazon you — and your kids — are going to be in Amazon’s system, being monitored and targeted. ... Amazon’s AI-powered, four-lens cameras — called Driveri — are being tested in a handful of contracted delivery vehicles. The cameras are manufactured by Netradyne, a San Diego-based startup, and record 100% of the time while vans are operating. They watch and record not only the drivers, but also the road and what’s happening around the vehicles.

...Had to split it into 3 parts. Here’s part 2. These cameras will not only monitor Amazon drivers but also constantly record video to the front and both sides of the vehicle, and analyze it with AI. Amazon says openly they plan to use it to “investigate” things like “package theft” pic.twitter.com/bX1Jn5YeZJ

... Greer says the Amazon cameras will “violate everyone’s basic rights by constantly collecting and analyzing footage of our neighborhoods, our homes and our children,” data she says “can and will” be shared with law enforcement, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

And to those in Rio Linda, CA. That will be that. However . . .

Truck pulls up to your address. Cameras are turned "on".
Driver exits the truck, your package in hand. Cameras are turned "on".
Driver delivers package to your front porch. Cameras are turned "on".
Driver renters his delivery van. Cameras are turned "on".
Driver drives to another address, 3 blocks away, to deliver another package. Cameras are turned "on".

Thief steals the package from your porch.
