The is a new option on the table for a resolution to the Palestinian dilemma.
The NY Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/18/world/middleeast/palestinians-see-united-nations-appeal-as-best-option-available.html?_r=2&ref=world) says the Palestinians see U.N. bid as the most viable option.
The Palestinian decision to apply for full United Nations membership at the Security Council, announced Friday by President Mahmoud Abbas, was the most viable of the only options possible: surrender, return to violence or appeal to the international community, a senior Palestinian official said Saturday.
However, MK MK Danny Danon (Israel), thinks the better solution would be for Israel to annex the West Bank. He is pressing the position and has spoken to presidential candidate Rick Perry on the subject of him endorsing the proposal.

Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry will hold a press conference with American and Israeli-Jewish leaders in New York on Tuesday in which he is expected to address the upcoming deliberations at the United Nations, MK Danny Danon (Likud), said on Saturday night.
Danon, who will participate at the press conference, said he would ask Perry ahead of the conference to adopt the initiative the MK is advancing to annex Judea and Samaria in response to the unilateral Palestinian moves at the UN.
They ought to annex Gaza and all territories to the Suez also.

Go big or go home, no compromise!

Listening to a few minutes of Netanyahu at the UN. Excellent. He pointed out how absurb the UN is. To paraphrase him "You can't make this up. A terrorist organization is in charge of the security council. "
Dead on with his observations.

"States liberate their land first and then the political body can be established." - Gaza'a Hamas PM, pushing 1967 borders. Obama also tried to push 1967 borders and got stomped for it. But this statement illustrates the fact that Abbas wants to shortcut to the latter while the rabble wants Israel defeated by any means available. State or no state, they will be no friend of Israel. I think this fact underscores why Bibi is saying he is still open to a negotiated settlement. By doing so Israel appears the reasonable statesman and Abbas the hotheaded ideologue bent on getting the UN to do what the Pali's are incapable of doing because the rabble do not want a negotiated settlement. And if statehood comes it becomes easier for a declared war to be engaged and holding the Pali's to the Geneva Convention should proves hilarious for me and disastrous for them. Either way I think Bibi is in the better position.

When was the last time the U.N. accepted application for statehood from an entity with no defined or internationally recognized borders ? Palestine is an idea , not a reality .

"Palestinian dilemma"
What dilemma build a country that's not trying to wipe-out it's neighbors and get recognized.
That was simple. ::cussing::

Saw PM Netanyahu today...he's the real deal, man! If only we could get someone like him, even for a day. I think he's the only person I admire without reservation.
I'm really hoping more will be made about his offer to sit w/ Abbas right then and there.
Of course, there'll be no mention of Abbas' skipping out.

What peace process, Mrs. Clinton? The one where Israel gets stomped on?
-
For as long as I can remember I have been hearing the same drivel about "the peace process". They care less about peace than they do the process, because should the process fail, it means the State Department has failed. This is why State always -- ALWAYS -- positions itself against war.
-
It is also always ALWAYS - - why State fails utterly time and time again!

Some things are so simple aren't they? Why can't everyone be as perceptive as us? :)
