Title: Has anyone vetted Herman Cain for statements on his radio show?
Post by: IronDioPriest on September 27, 2011, 09:26:27 AM
It occurs to me that in the world of talk radio and its many hosts, positions are taken and "off-the-cuff" talk is the everyday fare. We all should know by now that Herman Cain was the host of his own radio show, "The Herman Cain Show".

Given that he has made a couple rhetorical missteps in his campaign - a venue in which one would assume there to be at least some attempted level of message control - I'm wondering if anyone from the conservative side has pored through his audio archive to get a sense of what the Left will dig up on this man, should he become our nominee.

I s'pose the Romney and Perry camps will get around to it now, huh?

I found this link (http://feeds.wsbradio.com/TheNewHermanCainShow) to some archived podcasts that go back to mid 2010, but I can't find anything older. I don't even know how long he was on the air. I haven't had an opportunity to listen to any of them yet, but I figure it's a good place to start.

Paul at 11% in 4th place?  Still seems high to me...

I've always understood the word "caustic" to have a negative connotation. Reading this poorly titled piece at National Review, We have an insight into Cain through his weekly syndicated columns since 2005. I find nothing caustic, and in fact, the portrait that emerges in this article is one belonging to someone who has consistently been exactly who he is, well before running for President. Worth the read...

Cain’s Caustic Columns
They reveal his pre-campaign opinions, unvarnished as always. (http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/280272/cains-caustic-columns-katrina-trinko?pg=1)

Maybe this is another case where the headline is sensationalized a bit to get the reader. I found nothing caustic, unless National Review felt thier veins burning.

I find most of the National Review group to be of the "you can't SAY that!  It's got TONE!" variety of "conservatives".
