The White House plans to ask Congress by the end of the week for an increase in the government’s debt ceiling to allow the United States to pay its bills on time, according to a senior Treasury Department official on Tuesday. (I can't wait to see when the credit markets run dry...who's gonna have anything to throw after our paper? Everybody is going to have to run their printers overtime, and that will make the collapse several orders of magnitude more interesting...)

Another $1.2 trillion? I think I read in a recent Mark Steyn article on the national debt that President Obama and Senator Harry Reid have no intention of paying back the $15 trillion in debt.
Expect hyper-inflation of the dollar like the Wiemar Republic or Zimbabwe.

The central bankers, Neo-Keynsian's all it appears, boxed themselves into a corner and all they can do is print more paper, they have no stomach to tell the politicians controlling the feed trough that the good times are over...so it's all just a race to the bottom at this point and Kabuki theater gobbledegook to the masses to keep them thinking happy happy thoughts.
