By the bastardized definition of the Left?  Probably.  But I would pass on it anyway, since Hollyweird will only take this period piece and make it look like the same racists bastards are still holding the black man down today.  So if I don't go, I won't feel offended.

Sectionhand, just start with the premise that everyone to the Right of Joe Lieberman is a spittle-flecked racist, frothing at the mouth, holding a noose in one hand and a bullwhip in the other. Only by admitting who we really are can we be truly free.

The reviews are almost universally crappy . I wasn't planning on going anyway . I assume it breaths new life into the bullsh*t myth that they never lost a bomber which they escorted .

I don't see how I could be called a racist just because I don't want to watch a bunch of nigglets flying jiggy boo jets! (OK, props)

It's a LucasFilm. No one will blame anyone for avoiding anything tainted by the involvement of George Lucas.

Maybe Jar-Jar Binks will make a cameo as a Jamaican-American fighter pilot.

Wouldn't he be an illegal alien?

I heard a rumor Lucas was actually accused of racism because the planes landing gear didn't have 20" spinners.

Dang....you are correct,,,,,,, I meant 24" spinners......and the planes should have resembled old caddies or Chrysler 300's.

No doubt. How does one so thoroughly derail? I am an unabashed fan of Star Wars, so I do have to credit him for his vision that has in many ways become the touchstone of modern mythology. But damn did he ever lose his "mojo" or whatever you want to call it. It was in retrospect beginning to make itself apparent in Return of the Jedi, with the creeping in of cheesy juvenilizations like the Ewoks and burping creatures. The prequels brought us Jar Jar Binks, proof that Lucas had fallen to the Dark Side.

As for the Red Tails film....far be it from me to cast aspersions on anyone's wartime achievements but SH is right about this "never lost a bomber" mythology. Trouncing late-war German fighters, well most of these German pilots by then were lucky to have received more than 2 or 3 days of basic flight training. Let me know when Chuck Yeager has a $60 million film made about him.
