410-ton Navy tugboat

Louisiana's Berard Transportation has completed the loadout of the U.S. Navy's newest addition to its fleet, the 2,800-ton Coronado. The Littoral Combat Ship was built by Austal in Mobile, Alabama.

Berard reported its team used 104 axle lines of self-propelled modular transporters to roll the 107-foot long, 418-foot wide vessel from its final assembly bay to a waiting deck barge. The Coronado was barged down river for transloading onto the drydock.

The move was completed in two days.

Platform supply vessels from Damen Shipyards. The four vessels will be built at Damen Shipyards in Galati, Romania.

The 80-meter-long vessel has a 720-square-meter main deck and improved speed performance for servicing oil and gas rigs, according to the Dutch shipbuilder. The design was launched at Europort in November.

The vessels will be delivered to WWS from early 2013 to the end of that year, establishing the newly-formed Norwegian company’s service fleet. WWS will enter into a management agreement with Remøy Management, headquartered in Fosnavag, Norway [North Sea Oil?], for vessel management and crewing.


Tug Fairmount Sherpa

Fairmount Marine’s tug Fairmount Sherpa has towed the semi-submersible drilling rig Noble Paul Romano from the Gulf of Mexico to Egypt, a distance of close to 8,000 miles.

After crossing the North Atlantic, the convoy arrived at Las Palmas, Canary Islands, for a next bunker stop. En route to Egypt, the convoy stopped in Malta for a cargo and personnel run before it sailed toward the mooring position in the North Hap’y oilfield in the Greater Nile basin.

Tug Fairmount Summit has delivered the newbuild drilling rig ODN Delba III from the Persian Gulf to a location offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a distance of 10,625 miles.


Couldn't find information on rigs delivered to U.S. territorial Gulf of Mexico.
