Title: Palin Suggests West

And earlier on the “Today” show, Palin said the GOP nominee shouldn’t feel they have “to get somebody kind of just going along to get along, not willing to go rogue and get up and say that we need relentless, and we need sudden reform of our government to put it back on the side of the people.”

We can only hope!

I know, don't want to frighten anybody too much, but there are about 525 congresscritters worse than him!

This is the world we live in...

*sigh*  That's true, Libertas, but strikes me as a poor recommendation.

I think at this point the correct way to look at things is that we have a moral need to truthfully say to our descendents "Well, we tried to avoid bloodshed."

This is all so much dotting of Is and crossing of Ts.

Up, I agree all we are doing is going through the motions, the sooner the phony war is over the sooner the final battle can be won.

Now Nikki Haley floats West (http://hotair.com/archives/2012/04/05/nikki-haley-echoes-sarah-palin-allen-west-would-be-a-good-vp-candidate/) as well.

The VP is selected to "bring in" otherwise disenchanted voters then he is sent off
to greet the Parliamentary Minister of Vanuatu, attend a funeral, or smooze some
constituent. Our best and strongest Conservatives will be more effective on the
ground where they are than at some figure head position.

Dick Cheney is the only VP in history selected for his wisdom and knowledge.

It is my never to be humble opinion that we need Paul Ryan and West right where they are, where they may do us some good.

Tapping a big state governor, then?  Jeb Bush?   ::speechless::  God spare us!  Perry?   ::whatgives::  Not sure he'd like that at all!  Brewer?   ::whatgives::  Possible, but AZ not exactly a big electoral state, could she pull in more support in west & south?  Daniels?   ::saywhat::  The E-GOP loves him, and the E-GOP has their top man at the top!  Jindal?   ::)  I just don't see it.  Christie?   :o  Please, no!  Kasich?   ::whatgives::  Don't think he'd want it.

He must pull the South.  Lawsey, who worth his
salt would want it?  Someone about ready to retire.
Haley Barbour?  Tom Coburn?

Mmm, maybe.  I could see Barbour more than Coburn.

I agree. I think either would bolster the ticket and increase chances of electoral victory for Mittens, but I think the value of both men is in congress, and wasted on the Vice-Presidency. I felt the same about Michele Bachmann. Even Ron Paul. There are things congresspeople can accomplish as part of a body that a President cannot. Certainly a Vice-President can accomplish much less.
